I think it’s also possible that Salad is now more cautious with money, and we already know that he has total control over it. Maybe he got mad at her for making him spend so much on her boil and now she’s too embarrassed to mention the whole situation when he’s around. I’d say it’s 50/50 on the whole boil situation, she’s either lying about the boil or Salad is mad at her for having to spend more money.
