Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

@Scream Aim Fire None of the down the line things are really that much of an effect to bother looking up the the differences and spoiling things that the spoilers don't matter too much. If you've already spoiled yourself on the major story choices to not miss or want to know the only things that actually matter at all:
Save the leader of the Aldecaldos and side with Panam always. Save Takemura during Search and Destroy during a time that is pretty obvious. During Chippin' In, look up the specific choices to make during a dialogue section with Johnny that's obvious is special.

Other than that, don't really look up shit since it won't matter too much and just ruining what there is of the story.

Who's excited for the 2.0 update? I gazed over the Build Planner that has the new perks and fucking finally:
- monowire can be used to quickhack
- ranged weapons consume stamina too apparently, since in a perk under the Cool tree it says "No stamina cost for shooting while Focus is active." and I'm all for it

- there's Cyberpunk Edgerunners "themed" perks, as

I wonder how hard will MaxTac hit, and how feasible a Togusa from Ghost in the Shell or Jigen from Lupin III build will go, considering that clothes will just be clothes now, and armor has to be installed through cyberware now.

This alone is a saving grace, it pissed me off so bad when they removed the hacking functionality of monowire before the game was released. The perks being reworked is a nice touch as well. It's sad it took them almost 3 extra years to get the game out the door properly, but I'm just glad they finally plan on cleaning it up.

I hope I get to make my character look like the punisher and terminator more. Hell add more shit to make me look like Adam Smasher, I wanna borg out and look the part.

Can agree with these sentiments; I had a few builds in mind that I was thinking about, but the current armor system was kinda holding me back. When 2.0 comes out, it means that I'll be able to finally get these designs made; looking forward to it!

Actually I was wondering is unarmed still feasible in the game? Not ungah bungah gorilla build I mean actual legit unarmed. I remember pumping STR or whatever it was so much I opened locked doors and ripped turrets off barehanded. It's because I wanna use the arm cannon too.

Has there been any sort of comments on whether it's going to be like the sort of ass 1.4 update that just gave you all your skill points back and was probably better to start over if you were on a subsequent playthrough? I was almost done with a level 50 character who cleared everything again (started on 1.3) and didn't know whether to just finish it and save the DLC for a completely fresh character. The schematics and such were rolled when you started the game so if you start a character on an older update, you would never find the Kyubi and other guns' crafting schematics since they were in any container rolls.

There's a few more builds of this type on their YouTube channel.

The general sentiment around is that you should definitely start from scratch, mostly since they removed a ton of stuff and added a lot more. All the crafting perks are gone, by the way.

Goodness fucking gracious.

If there aren't any serious bugs or performance issues, I might end up finally trying the game out with this. Seems like as good a time as any. Maybe give Edgerunners a shot, too.

I'm looking forward to the update myself; the current game is honestly pretty solid, and the update certainly looks like it'll be bringing in some more good things.

Granted, there's still the possibility that the update could end up breaking the game more; that being said, CDPR has done a solid job of bug fixes already, so... I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Pretty much everyone is saying 2.0/Phantom Liberty is excellent. I expect a lot of reeeeeeee from people who made hating this game their entire personality.
Ha ha, I actually do hope Phantom Liberty is good, I just wish it was the game that launched 2 years ago instead of now. Through I do suspect the story isn't really going to be that great.

In the modding community I’m hoping for my creative and lore-wise clothing instead of the shitty porno mods we keep getting. Like I said before, I just wanna be a cyborg killing machine and not one in human skin.

wow a megacorportation shat out the game they promised only 2 years after launch. you sure showed us bro
Why do people act like this game killed their family or something? I played the buggy release version and it was nowhere near what was promised but a solid 7/10.

Years later though people seethe with anger if someone else doesn't hate it enough, why? That's fucking weird.

People are way way angrier at Cyberpunk being average than actual pieces of shit like Saints Row or outright scams like Star Citizen.

Because Cyberpunk had a whole lot of hype surrounding it and said hype was built on actual, no shit, lies spewed by the creators (which ended up getting them sued). Nobody thought Saints Row looked good, even before it released, and Star Citizen has basically become a running industry wide joke at this point.

The game literally didn't work on base PS4 and Xbox One, for starters. It was a lot worse than just being a 7/10.

It's just weird to see that a lot of people suddenly act like Cyberpunk didn't have an awful launch (to the point that Sony stopped selling it on their storefront and offered refunds) just a few years later after a shitty anime comes out. It's also kind of pathetic that people will complain about "fix it later" game development but then suddenly not give a shit once the game is kinda fixed.

Edit: Also, it should be said that pretty much *everyone* said that Cyberpunk 2077 was excellent up until release too, so there is a reason for people to be cautious.

A lot of Youtubers even had to put out statements regarding it (I remember YongYea specifically ate a lot of crow for his glowing praise of it before release after he got to play it early)

But I doubt most the people that lost their mind actually experienced those issues. It's just weird to see that a lot of people suddenly act like Cyberpunk didn't have a massive fucking awful launch (to the point that Sony stopped selling it on their storefront) just a few years later after a shitty anime comes out.
If it becomes good why does any of that shit matter? New Vegas and The Witcher 3 are excellent now but were borderline unplayable due to bugs and instability at launch.
