David Steel / LazerPig / Ricewynd / Malquistion - Pathological Liar, Reddit Historian, Femboy Thirster, and Vore Connoisseur

I’d argue with that, but I’d be mostly wrong. Off to the autistic thunderdome with me.
I don't think you necessarily have to exile yourself. I think we just all need to keep in mind the ground rules and remember this thread is about laughing at David Steel/Lazerpig, the disingenuous YouTube milsperg that constantly gets shit wrong and will throw a fit if you point it out.

If we want to go off or tear into each other over the current Slav Slapfight, we've got three other threads to choose from.

Every clout chasing retard and their dog have become warhawks since the war started. Shameful stuff. But this fat bastard's worst crime isn't his blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life in favour of money and fame, no. Dave's most egregious sin is his being Scottish, a fate worse than death, and one most easily remedied by a heroin overdose.

I think he's trying to imply that it's Russian - which again, shows that either he's playing on other people's ignorance, or is immensely ignorant himself. Because as stated above, this is clearly a T-64, and Ukraine is the only combatant in this war that uses the T-64 as a front line combat vehicle
As long as it farms impressions on Twitter it's serving its purpose. Curate the right echo chamber and it doesn't matter how retarded your posts are.

lazerpig has been on a streak of saying the dumbest and wrongest shit on his twitter ever since the Red Effect second reply video came out. For those who don't know this is Ukrainian T-64 dated to 2014 with improvised ERA under the makeshift sheet metal thing. The green boxes in the middle aren't bricks but Kontakt 1. He stole the tweet from a someone else and the guy called him out. Yet his original tweet was right but lazerpig changed it up to be wrong. Makes me wonder if he changed it up to make the Russians look bad because with no context one might assume this is Russian.

He also did some dumb shit like mix up features of three different tanks, the T-80U, BV, and BVM. And called electronic warfare system, smoke launchers.
Honestly it's probably to make the Ruskies look bad. Not the biggest fan, but they know what fucking ERA is. For example:
MyCollages-5-1-1.jpg
Kontact 1 ERA on a actual TRUE and HONEST T-72. Also notice the bigger road wheels unlike the obvious T-64 in the picture. Also for those curious, Kontakt 1 Cutaway

LMAO.

It actually has more to do with where the old Soviet armored divisions were when the USSR broke up. As I understand it, the majority of units that were equipped with the T-64 were stationed in Ukraine, and when the Union fell those vehicles were passed on to Ukraine as the successor state. Russia meanwhile still had a majority of T-72s and T-80s, while retaining a relatively smaller number of T-64s. As the T-64 was originally built in Ukraine, Ukraine had access to the old tooling and blueprints so they could keep producing upgrades for it, while in Russia the T-64 more or less fell by the wayside as they focused more on producing and upgrading the T-72, T-80, and later T-90.
Another hole. The Ukranians not only kept the factories, but the bulk of T-64's. Russia does have a few, but theyve mostly kept them for export because money. So either Russia is pulling out tanks they can't repair without immense effort or digging into a dwindling spare parts supply, or it's a fucking T-72. Can Laserpig lie any harder??

It should be noted that the DPR and LPR operated T-64s from 2014 until late 2022-ish but I think they all fucking died lol. Haven't seen them in a while. Either that or spares ran out and switched to T-72s.
I did hear they were using those. Most likely spare parts issues. Even if the picture was a DPR/LPR picture, that isn't directly the Russian military like LP is saying, they get the hand me downs

How did LP mistake a T-64 picture from 2014 for a more recent picture from the current war? His irrational hatred truly blinds him.

Makes me think of the first Reading of the day in Sirach 27:30-28:7 tbh.

Either that, or he did know the picture represented something else but decided to lie to his audience for political reasons.
Basically this. He either was drunk as shit or he just was being political. Either way, not becoming of someone who calls themselves a historian

Probably minor compared to everything else, but I'm about 99% sure he plagarized a decent portion of his T-34 video.

Every single one of his sources, and most of his arguments come verbatim from a 10 year old blog post.
Oh. Oh lawd1692830325830921.jpg
.... is what I thought happened, except LaserNig just took another guy's work, didn't bother verifying it, and shat it on YouTube, because he's actually retarded. Just scanning it, there are parts copied word for word. Actual plagrism. Theft even.

To add onto this, Lazerswine also made a video on Pentagon Wars couple months after a furry tank youtuber called Spookton did (yes I know but he isnt anywhere egregious as Lazerlard). Will check how copied or not it is. Remember, it caused a little bit of stir back in the day.

At least Spookston isn't a lolcow to my knowledge, actually quotes his sources in pretty much every vid, and he seems like a pretty laid back guy who just wants to play War Thunder and talk about military history.

The worst part is that if you actually look and think about some of the stuff this guy has listed as "proof" that it sucked, it's either self-contradictory or utterly irrelevant.
Just the two examples that stood out to me:

Well, if from Kursk onwards (when the momentum on the Eastern Front truly started to shift), of the tens of thousands of all types of armored vehicles the Soviets were throwing at the Germans, half were T-34s, guess what? It means that the Soviets did in fact have hordes of T-34s that they were throwing at the Germans.

"Just a bit under 45,000 lost during the war! War-winning indeed..."

To anyone who is looking at the bigger picture and isn't just looking for a reason to stroke their hateboner to the dumb vatnik tank either because they're a Wehraboo fanboy or a Cold War Boomercon, this is completely irrelevant.

Yes, the Soviets suffered greater losses of AFVs on the Eastern Front than the Germans, but that's because 1. the Germans attacked first, and chewed their way through a sizable number of light or obsolete tanks like the T-26, T-28, and BT-series during the first two years of the war, and 2. the Soviets produced more AFV's than the Germans overall period. 45,000 lost out of over 50,000 produced is pretty wretched, but it also tells a very important story: the Soviets were able to churn out over 50,000 examples of this all-around heavily armed and well armored tank of all variants. Compare that to the Panther which, while definitely more technologically sophisticated, only reached 6000 total produced. Even the legendary Tiger, which could kill the T-34 at distance before it even had a chance to engage, only reached less than 1400 produced. Oh, and the Germans had to split these between two fronts.

Also, for all the technological sophistication and superiority of the Panther...the majority of them broke down and had to be withdrawn from combat during their initial debut at Kursk. Meanwhile those "unreliabe" T-34s were able scurry across the battlefield and rip and tear the Panzerwaffe.

Also for the Soviets, "loss" meant any kind of removal from combat, even if the vehicle was repaired later. "Lost" for the German tanks typically meant "Dresdenned."
American and British "losses" were the same thing. Germans wouldn't count a tank as "lost" even if it was combat ineffective but not technically "destroyed".
