To not completely contribute to the deliquescy of a Thread, I had a post lost in the rollback about 2024 Democratic candidate that I'll paraphrase(LMAO, I'm a sperg, that was probably longer than the original, hopefully more concise):

Kamala: all signs point to the powers that be think she's worse than a senile man, she seems pissed at Biden, likely cause she knows he's unfit, but had been informed that she will not be successful if she tries to 25th him. I bet they promised her Biden will resign before the end of 2024 if she doesn't try to run, and allow her to be on the books as the first female President.

Biden probably is in until the Spring unless he dies, Democrats don't want a primary.

Hillary has been keeping out of sight, but sending political commentary. I think there is a nonzero chance they coronate her (again) at the convention, after Biden pulls out too late into the primary for anyone to get some steam. Her being out of the public eye is probably the best chance she has, hoping that people kinda forget how much they hate her.

Newsom is probably the only choice out of the "COVID governors", as Cuomo is disgraced and Whitmer has the glow op kidnapping baggage. He's said he's not, but it's only illegal to lie as a politician if you're Trump.

If they go for a relative unknown, my speculation is Julian Castro. I believe they've been building him up as the Spic Obama since 2012, counting on his race pulling unsurmountable numbers from the Hispanic population. He floundered in 2020, but even at the time I thought it was just a test run, and Kamala and Biden were the only ones with any actually party support.
