Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

The end of the 3DS' life (as I recall) was a bunch of JRPGs and visual novel type stuff. I was in Hong Kong in 2018/2019 and there was one woman who sold NA 3DS games in a market. Everything I bought for it was JRPGs - Alliance Alive, Strange Journey Redux, Detective Pikachu, Radiant Historia, Etrian Odyssey V/Nexus. It was awesome but it definitely felt like the 3DS was appealing to a niche market while the Switch was going for heavy hitters. It could just be she was trying to appeal to nerds like me.

Did Nintendo ever drop a console as quickly as the Wii U? They seemed to release BOTW as a sort of swan song to it with the launch of the Switch, and consolation to those who stuck with it, but afterwards just dropped any real support. I remember most other Nintendo consoles like the GBA, DS, 3DS, even back to the SNES getting games a year, two years into the next generation.
All I know is I've known 3 people that have had one, which I find highly unusual, though I am Mormon, and I'll tell you this much, Nintendo sells because it's very safe. Even when I was a kid, everyone I knew had a classic Wii, including me. So yeah, there's a fair few Wii U's floating around in Utah still.
Nope. Nintendo Wii U basically became persona non grata as soon as the Switch was released. They were probably prepared to do that even if the Switch was a failure. Then, to add insult to injury, they promptly strip mined the Wii U's library for anything worth porting and put that on the Switch. So now, there's no reason to even keep a Wii U if you got one or go back and get one for the purposes of game collection.
I mean... it's fun keeping the shitty CoD ports though lol :lit:

Phil thinks he's going to buy Nintendo (and Valve).

What is it about people named Phil being retards?

Microsoft already tried to buy them once and Nintendo was doing much worse off back then. Why do they think it would work this time?
Nintendo's market cap (aka the amount MS would have to pony up) is less than Activision believe it or not, but of course, you can't just buy a company even if you have the money, since you need both the shareholders (ha) and foreign government (even bigger ha) to agree to it as well.

If Microsoft was to acquire a console maker I wish they would of acquired Sega post Saturn launch ( I think Microsoft did also thought of acquiring them in 1997 or so as a bridge to get to console gaming) HOWEVER If this where to happen in some other timeline, There would be no Xbox as a Brand and Sega would of been thier gaming brand / platform. Basically from a consumer perspective they would be no outward appearance Microsoft owned them except maybe a copyright print somewhere on the startup screen or box, and would just basically be a subsidiary owned by MS. But with Microsoft money and tech behind it. ( I would assume better direction and leadership as well.)
If I recall, Sega approached Microsoft to add Dreamcast compatibility to the original Xbox, but somehow things fell through.

I remember Persona Q2 got released all the way in 2019 for the 3DS, I assume that was the last major exclusive 3DS title.

The console wars are kinda more weird than they used to be. A lot of you are making huge posts about nothing and it is somehow even less interesting than the nothing of 20 years ago.

Also someone said they wished Nintendo would ease up on copyright. What a bizarre statement. Guys get another hobby.

But actually don't because I still like your posts even if they are weird.

I also remember that when Microsoft bought Rare they believed they owned Donkey Kong.
Your memory is incorrect. MS did not buy Rare believing they would get the rights to DK. After the purchase an MS exec walked through Rare's front office, saw a DK statue they had out and said, "oh, we own Donkey Kong now?," at which point a Rare employee immediately informed him that they did not.

I still play my 3DS :)
A lot of these fancy remakes and remasters were still better and more comfy on the DS systems. Take Ace Attorney for example. The HD version is great and you should buy it if you like it.

Still doesn't beat being comfy. Switch is not as comfy as DS. The comfort factor is the only selling point of a Switch 2. Fix the comfy and prove @Marissa Moira right.

So….. I was right you literally just said a MS executive thought they owned Donkey Kong after purchasing Rare. Sorry I wasn’t as detailed you nitpicking fuck lol.

The devil is in the details though and the correct form of the story is different than the version you posted.

But it isn't that big a deal anyway. Like a .2/10.

Well now I know and for you fucking autists I’ll make sure to write all my game facts with one to one super detailed accuracy including every single time John S. Microsoft took a shit before he walked into Rare, saw the big ape and said “Yo fam we own that nigga right?!!”

Give me eShop music, themes, system OS music, and web applets that run at more than 3 frames/second. Despite everything the Wii U OS did wrong, it was extremely comfy.

It's a video game thread so you should probably do all of that in triplicate and proof read twice out loud.
