I’m honestly kind of surprised that those investors really haven’t so much as threatened a lawsuit over not being able to see the numbers, much less demanded to see them with a strongly worded letter.
The big fund managers are told "Its trade secrets bro, just trust us. We're using metrics" and then a young starlet who's wait for her big break comes in, gives them a beej, and no further questions are asked.

So for these shows that aren't running as a result of the strikes, how is the rest of the production crew getting on then? Obviously writers and actors aren't the only people responsible for producing a television show, movie, etc, but I guess everyone forgot about them. Does the rest of the staff just go fuck themselves until this ends if they're not part of either of those unions?
Don't be ridiculous, set workers don't matter! They're no better than those filthy rednecks in flyover country, all that really matters if it the writers and actors get their comfy lives!

right, the man setting him self on fire was fucking hilarious though
he was a stunt man obviously

You're a few years out of date here since Hollywood isn't as obsessed with the China market anymore, outside of shit they know will sell like Avatar. IIRC it's because of Xi's policies toward foreign entertainment (and promoting his own domestic entertainment) and plenty of movies that have absolutely bombed in China usually because of racial propaganda or homosexual ideology they shove into every movie these days. They still do push their movies in China (and other foreign markets) to spread American culture.
That's what I said, read more. CCP restricted consumption of gwailo media and consume own shitty propaganda like wolf warrior series and literal amusement park for "Xi Jingping thought"

More technically inclined and privileged handful have access to steam and GOG only to get shitfit over Winnie the pooh meme. Chinks are all over weeb and loli shit like 100% orange juice and entire network to translate troon doujini, Hentai and anime on TOR.

Xi's security apparatus isn't troon proof. The difference bring Chinks consume western propaganda in secret, much like underground clubs that weren't approved by the state.

Lastly pedowood panders to China for hurting feelings or outright banning episodes, in one episode of Simpsons writers made a joke about Chinese sweatshops. That episode hasn't aired since. That's just one of many demands made by CCP.

Well, Bill Maher got pimped out by the WGA. Not suprising, though.

Well he has always been a cuck so this is fully in character for him.
Remember, Bill is still a Leftist. Despite the fact that he’s apparently referred to as a Right Winger, despite not having changed a single one of his beliefs over the years due to the way the Overton Window has been punted.

Him falling in line shouldn’t be surprising.
Yeah it's been very annoying dealing with people on the right that believes Bill Maher is one of just because he has said "the left has gone too far this time!". It's a bad mindset the right has that they need to move past. Auron MacIntyre says this better than I can.

Had a talk with someone who works at the prop house
it's BAD like BAD BAD
going to expect lots of reduced hours.

They might as well start rescuing the props, or at least some of the vintage ones. It would fucking suck to have all that old tech just further rot/be at risk of being looted by nignogs/the homeless in the near future.

You may not that this outlet that reports on Hollywood happenings didn't even do their own legwork and are just quoting CNBC which is kind of a good example of how worthless these people are.

"Fuck those people and their covetous desires and inordinate love of riches! Now pay me more money!"
That's unfair of me to paraphrase him like that because Jeff has fuck all to do with film. He writes books. According to Wikipedia only two of his books have even been optioned by media companies.

I hope Whoopi or Joy Behar say something astronomically retarded in their defense that makes Kelly Osborne's "Who's gonna clean their toilets?" seem grounded.

Jimmy Jam's story is that he liked watching Degrassi and that inspired him to write for Disney.

James has exactly one writing credit and that's being an apprentice writer on some Disney animated show called Hailey's On It! for one episode.

Maybe that's why no one will hire you, you fucking retard. You have absolutely nothing to show just like the other TEN THOUSAND WRITERS who are demanding more money. Get fucked, retard.

Look at her pig face. Bask in the glow of her pride in her quip. It's downright Marvel tier. Unlike Jeff, she's actually involved with Hollywood

Her latest work is a film called Wonder Drug which is yet another...film(?) about Thalidomide, the drug that was prescribed to pregnant women for morning sickness that caused horrific birth defects. I struggle to describe it because best I can tell it hasn't been made and will never get made.

She seems to have a website for every single one of her scripts and not a single one of them looks like they've ever been actually produced. I found one blog post on her website where it states that filming for Wonder Drug was anticipated...back in February of 2021.

I'd link the article but it's dead, assuming it ever existed because I cannot find it on the article's website. That's weird for an article that's just over 3 years old. To top it all off Caitlin has absolutely no where that she links that you can watch any of her movies. She seems to exist to make scripts, posters for the movies that would be based on her scripts, gets awards for making scripts, talks to people about her scripts, and it's all in the non stop circle jerk of zero value and absolute nothingness. It's a confusing scheme that I'm clearly too dumb to comprehend. If that didn't convince you that she deserves more money maybe her voice in this ad for a film fest where you can join in a mixer with her. That's not a joke.

Fuck these people.

Saw this on my news feed too, there's definitely a narrative:

A lot of these writers are going to lose their jobs or simply not get hired once the deal is made, so it would be better for everyone to get it over with now. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the less qualified writers realize that they're not going to benefit from the deal.

Something that I didn't fully think of until I saw it in some of the strike posts is that if they actually come to an agreement today the actors, the group that jumped on the bandwagon many months too late and everyone pretty much forgot about, are still on strike. Lol good luck SAG.

Imagine if shit doesn't get resolved today or tomorrow, lol.

It would only prove more how shit these Hollywood writers are than they already are.

I've been reading that the ancillary industry workers are getting absolutely FUCKED by not having a paycheck for MONTHS.

Plus the shit writers who want make work are going to get thrown under the bus.

It's funny how even if the writers strike would to end it wouldn't matter much. Since, there would be the actors still striking if whatever the agreements are not what the actors want too. So things would still be stalled anyhow.

Oh look, no deal if this is true (this is CNN, so take with a grain of salt):

Studios and striking writers end ‘marathon session’ of negotiating with no deal

By Oliver Darcy, CNN
Updated 11:39 PM EDT, Thu September 21, 2023

The striking writers and heads of the four big Hollywood studios have concluded a “marathon session” of negotiations, which lasted more than ten hours, without reaching a deal Thursday evening, a person familiar with the matter told CNN.

The person, who requested anonymity because they were not publicly authorized to discuss the matter, said that more progress was made during the negotiations Thursday, the second straight day of intense talks between the two sides, but a deal still has not been inked to end the historic Hollywood work stoppage.

It’s unclear when the studios and writers will meet again to continue negotiations.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers studio bosses — Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, Disney chief Bob Iger, Netflix co-chief Ted Sarandos, and NBCUniversal studio chairman Donna Langley — resumed negotiations on Wednesday with the Writers Guild of America. After the meeting, both sides issued a rare joint statement noting their discussions would continue the following day.

The fact that the two sides — which at times have rebuked each other for comments to the media — issued a joint statement signaled a possible sign of progress.

Warner Bros. Discovery is CNN’s parent company.

The WGA went on strike May 2 with the work stoppage reaching its 143rd day on Thursday, putting it within two weeks of the longest strike in the union’s history, which lasted 154 days in 1988. Many productions had halted even before SAG-AFTRA joined the WGA on strike July 14.

Both sides have similar sets of demands, including better wages, residuals payments from streaming services for their work, and job protections against the use of artificial intelligence.
