I used to listen to CTH a lot back in 2018-2019, mainly because it gave me a sense of community with my politics, but I gradually learned that the members were on vastly different parts of the spectrum. I genuinely can't stand listening to Felix's talking points anymore so I only put it on when I want some really far back background noise, and then it constantly reminds me the various petty, spiteful, material-orientated points that make people despise the left. These circuit comedians trying to masquerade like they're actually exercising left wing politics is the exact reason why the left can't even prune their own base to the point where it looks like anything but an overgrown thicket. But Matt has particularly good philosophy under his belt, it doesn't seem to come out all the time, but when it shines, you can see genuine intelligence, genuine caretaking, genuine altruism. Matt is in incredible pain from a spinal injury and I know exactly what he goes through because my father has similar, but more severe, problems from a childhood car accident. This pain allows him to actually touch into the base of what left wing politics is built off of, the fact that life fucking sucks, it can get incredibly worse, not everyone is born on the same level, so we gotta be kind, and try to help people reach their potentials with this spare resource we accrue instead of building statues and going to war.

This is politics in general these days. It seems like both the left and right have completely left "discourse" to the most toxic lunatics among their ranks.

They're the preppers of leftism. Their idea of of "prepping" involves not having a job or basic hygiene. If you can prep by doing nothing, count me in. Late stage capitalism = no effort prepping...

Note, commies have been saying "late capitalism" or "late stage capitalism" since about 1902. That's over 120 years now. Meanwhile communism rose, failed and died (along with tens of millions of people) in less than 80.

I mean I'm sure it's seriously going to die any day now. Smdh.

Big if true on this one? I'd not heard any whispers that he was coked/Adderall'd out. It seems to be sour grapes subtweeting from a dude who is known for being a dick on twitter, he also locked his account immediately after posting but not fast enough for screens to be passed around.

Fun fact, the term "late stage capitalism" was invented some time around 1900. I guess "late stage" goes on for a long, long time. I wouldn't worry about it going anywhere soon if you like capitalism.
