WELL LISTEN HERE MOTHER FUCKER:
1) Martin's sympathetic. Every single brainwashed person in the comic hates his guts and the universe is constantly trying to browbeat him down into drinking Stephen's kool-aide. He seems to genuinely love Stephen and wants him back, while Stephen only pushes him away. Despite his son's hateful, cold, condescending attitude towards him, Martin still tries to help him and support him. He is most certainly "Father of the Year" since he can listen to Stephen's bullshit without wanting to inflict any physical harm on the little shit.
2)Stephen's mom is a fucking fruitcake neon dangerhaired Tumblrina with a fetish for oxymorons who most likely DID brainwash Stephen (looking at some of the earlier comics Bill deleted) who only lives to enable the monster she most likely created.
