Julie had legit intellectual impairments, was effectively abandoned by her family who had no qualms at all about feeding her to monsters just to keep her occupied and out of their lives. Julie was exceedingly unpleasant and unattractive, but she should have been in a group home with guardians and access to mental health care, and being taught self care and gradually learning to be independent. She was tragic. Stinky here looks to be a full on freak show.
