Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

I miss the 90s and early 2000s girl power stuff where you could be cute girly girl OR a tomboy and skateboard. We've literally regressed.
Just asking, why do you zoomers think that it's just the early 2000s and not the entirety of the 2000s? Did either of us even remember the 2000s fondly, because I have?

I'm an older millenial and stopped watching cartoons then (I was busy at college). From what I do remember, the mid-2000s is when the weird cartoons that had nothing to do with reality started cropping up.

But the mid-to-late-2000s did have some gems. Not just TV like Flapjack, Chowder, early Total Drama, Meglas XLR and Avatar: TLA, but also cinema like Kung Fu Panda, Curse of the Were-Rabbit, WALL-E and Ratatouille, and even adult animation like the stuff from Adult Swim.

I'll be honest I didn't like most of those, except for Avatar when I actually watched it years later and the films you mentioned. Megas XLR was cool in memory, but I went back and tried to re-watch it recently because a cocky fat nerd piloting a robot inspired by anime sounded fun, but it was actually pretty awful imo. Had a banger intro though. I do, in fact, dig giant robots. The only Adult Swim cartoons I've gone back and re-watched that started post-2005, and still loved, was Metalocalypse, The Boondocks, and Moral Orel. I'm not a big fan of the LOL So Random comedy of that era on TV particularly for kids media, most of which was inspired by the success of Spongebob, which is why I consider that in between era to be at best mid overall when it comes to television.

What about Robot Chicken, Xavier RA or Superjail? They were great 2000s Adult Swim shows. And other adult animated shows like American Dad or Drawn Together were great.

Funny you mentioned this, because LOL random humor was popular in the 90s. It's hard to believe, but try to rewatch shows like Angry Beavers and Cow & Chicken and tell me that they aren't that type of comedy.

I didn't really like any of those either. I don't even know what Xavier RA was. American Dad, Drawn Together, and Robot Chicken have their moments, but they're not my thing.

I was more of a Batman TAS, Gargoyles, Hey Arnold, Beetlejuice, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, and X-men kinda girl. And those shows you mentioned were for sure were, that's dated back all the way to Rubber Hose animation in some form, but based on the whole of the decade, those super loud and colorful ones really didn't start popping up until the late 90s. I remember enjoying Rocko's Modern Life a lot, but by comparison that random humor felt more relaxed overall if that made sense.

But you forgot to mention Superjail, what do you think of it? Also, Xavier RA was kino

I was born in 94 and most of my childhood was between 1999 to 2008, so that's why I'm more biased with 2000s culture. It's such a great decade bar none.

The 2000s was definitely a gem of a decade when it comes to adult entertainment. There were a lot of awesome shows to choose from.

I think I only watched an episode of Superjail so honestly I don't remember any of it. Now that I see Xavier, I remember it and I remember watching it, but I might have blocked it from my memory lmao

I was an 80s baby. I enjoyed the 2000s culture but that was more on the adult and college culture end of it than cartoons at the time. I didn't start catching up on it until years later. (I think I only watched the first 2 seasons of Metalocalypse when it was running, and only casually when I caught it on TV.) I don't hate the shows necessarily from that era, but the vibe changed for a new generation that just wasn't for me. Stuff like Venture Bros, etc still holds up well outside of that era though, so I'll give it props where it's due. Very experimental, which I can appreciate.

And now we just have girls kissing and prom episodes. No wonder toy sales are dismal and shows are cancelled at the drop of a hat.

And 2011 was when things gone to hell.

I read this in Bubble Bass’ voice, and this definitely defined the nu-Cartoon Industry of today

We all died around that time anyway.
After 2010-ish if you died you ended up in this new timeline where everything is weird, then they shot Harambe, keeper of reality, and things really started to go off the rails.
The world truly ended in 2011. Harold Camping was right and we should've listened to him.

>stop projecting
Is xe admitting transitioning kids is predatory and pedophilic behavior?
Also did that Box cartoon or whatever get fully funded? If not then lol, get fucked and fuck libshit college caliartists.
Unlike Marie Lum's Pen Pals Forever, It seems Boxtown did get fully funded. But due to cost cutting measures, it will be fully 3D instead of 2D like what we were initially promised.

And just to give you an idea, here's the original trailer.

and here's what we're actually gonna get.

Oh god, name a bigger downgrade than this schlock, lol. Ain't no way they're getting picked up after this false promise.
