man Ive been shooting so long that it just seems totally foreign to me to lean back like that while firing, what a goober
Personally would like this for my 300 win mag, a laser rangefinder that can calculate everything would make my rifle fucking sing, though rn, I'd probably get something way cheaper, handheld. Two things today.
First is a product leak from Vortex, The Impact 4000 Weapon mounted laser rangefinder. Why is this cool you ask? Because the closest comparable thing on the market is the Wilcox Raptar and assuming you can even find one for sale you'll be paying $7-10k with absolutely no warranty support because 99.9% of them are sold Mil. clients. The Impact will apparently be around $2k retail. Alleged release is the 28th of this month. It also apparently includes auto rotation of the display (which is good I guess)
Snipershide thread regarding the leak which I believe to be the origin, a Vortex industry account shows up on the third page to act coy about the release schedule.
X and Nitter links to video on the units
Second is an update regarding the further development of 3D Printable North Korean style helical magazines for Kalashnikov pattern firearms. Black Lotus Coalition member Instructive Content has created a 5.45x39 version of his earlier 7.62x39 helical magazine, says that a fully loaded magazine will be able to hold 100-150 rounds
Eventually that sight the Army asked for the XM7 is going to come out for civilians. It has a built-in rangefinder. Two things today.

Their entire showcase screams bullshit so I went looking for a video of someone actually using one of these things. I was only able to find their Youtube channel:New "Thing that will be fought over in various courts across the country for years just like Bumpstocks and FRT's are and maybe lead to a SCOTUS decision that disembowels the ATF" just dropped
I seriously doubt the Secret Service uses this thing (they actually claim this), however it is actually pretty neat based on it's simplicity, reminds me of "Bump Boards"

Nice dude! Great on ya for getting a new 22 revolver. Fun little peashooter for sure. Personally want the M&P 22 like my brother has, that's a fun full sized plinker, at least for a semi auto 22.Good news kiwi gun bros, I finally found a new S&W 617 for under MSRP. I should have it by Friday.
Went to a gun show this weekend and successfully stopped myself from going bankrupt as they had the Henry's I wanted (.22lr Frontier and .357) along with the surprisingly nice PSA Jakl in 16 inch configuration aka the "Kirkland SCAR"
Also liked the DAGR and saw a few really neat used pieces, including a Beretta single action revolver with an absolutely outstanding bluing job and I got to play with the new ATN thermal scopes.
Yeah gun shows in DFW are extremely hit or miss although this one was a hit. Put on by Texas Gun Shows, no jewelry or food vendors allowed (except on drink thing I think) 98% guns and knives, plus a thermal scope vendor, a safe guy, and ammo/accessories people.Nice dude! Glad you seemed to have fun and got to try out a bunch of toys man. Better than me. My progress on that Security-380 is in flux. Got car repairs coming up, don't know how much it'll be. BUT I don't think I'll have to dip into my checking for it, so should have a new 380 and my first semi auto pistol SOON TM
Good on them for having class and not using some thot gun bunny like James Reeves at TFBTV or ANY chick is that posts recoil vids of her ass or the Weapon Outfitters guy with his cringe content.Rosoboron has a YT channel...
the LLDR is an outgrowth of the SOFLAM equipment and other LTDs and do indeed have their own separate tripod. the SSWT for example has various plates for different equipment including rifles and observation optics, designators, radios, et c.Never heard of that before.
it's an extremely quiet setup that's perfectly fine inside 100 meters. it's used as an alternate SMG.Looks like an extremely quiet setup with god awful external ballistics.
And on the opposite end of the range spectrum, SIG 6.75" 300 BLK without direct thread suppressor. Looks like an extremely quiet setup with god awful external ballistics.

One thing I like looking at in gun shows is ammo, anything to get 38 special cheaper. Some are ripoff like you said, but others, it's like, I'm just using that shit fir plinkers and it's 10 bucks less than usual, fuck itgun shows in DFW are extremely hit or miss although this one was a hit. Also, as far as I could tell all the sellers there were ready to make a deal and weren't the "I knOw WhAT I GaWT" dumbasses that usually shit up other gun shows. No buddy, that rusted Arsenal isn't worth $4k, and quad rail ARs went out of fashion 8 years ago, your big fat Colt isn't a $3k rifle.
The comparison of subsonic .300blk to pistol calibers is apt because the speed of a supersonic rifle bullet is what gives it the massive temporary stretch cavity you in ballistic gel tests. The cavity is the result of kinetic energy dissipating in tissue. Expanding, fragmenting, and bullets that yaw and tumble take it a step farther as they allow even more kinetic energy to get dumped. It's been noted by ballistic wound experts that the threshold for this disruption seems to increases dramatically at 2600-2900fps. Tests on live tissue, dog legs iirc, showed this relationship with velocity to be true firing ball bearings at various velocities. High velocity showed something like 20x the tissue disruption lower velocity shots did.I've mentioned before, I chug the .300BLK cool-aid. My goto is a 7.5" .300 BLK upper with a quick thread can. IMHO if you have a .300 BLK, an adjustable gas port is an absolute necessity along with notes on bullet weights and gas port settings. The ballistics subsonic are what they are, there is no free lunch in the laws of physics, you are not getting that "slam factor" the 5.56 gets cooking at around 3000FPS but...... If you have the secret sauce .30 caliber bullets made for soft tissue / subsonic velocity you can lob some very lethal projectiles.
These guys basically turn the subsonic .300 BLK into a very hot .45 JHP, while of course being stupid quiet and having a "standard size" magazine hold 30.
