No, you're remembering correctly. Somewhere out there is a recording of John demonstrating his "female" voice, actually shifting from his natural voice to the one he has now, but like you I can't remember where it might be found. Both of these admissions were much more private than Keffals' server, though, so if John isn't officially "out," he will be soon.

Also let's not forget the Boston Globe correction after he pitched a fit about being called trans that only outed him further.

I'm sorry this is so surreal to me on a personal level, because not even five hours ago while working I actually pictured in my mind, apropos of nothing, seeing a happening post that said Brianna Wu finally admits to being trans. I didn't even expect it to be today, I just figured some unspecified date in the future I'd see that. I log on to this site for the first time today and see this and I wonder if the simulation is sending me hints in advance.
