I had a throat infection so bad I was coughing up brown gluey goo for ages, all shot through with theads of bloody tissue. The doc said it was some of my throat lining.

I've had stitches in my hand that did that. The scar grew over them, I thought they'd fallen out or dissolved or whatever. Ended up with a little pimple on the scar line a few months later, scratched it and out comes all this bloody puss and a bunch of little knotted up surgical stitches. It was pretty cathartic picking them out with tweezers
