Yeah I had wondered about that too. The only reference I could find to extortion/blackmail was in the trafficking offences, but sadly I don’t think Dave wants to pimp out his dad.

There are some offences relating to posting identifying information online (565.240, .252 and .257) but they’re a stretch. Also two separate stalking offences (565.225 and .227). These offences get more serious if a police officer or their family members are targeted, so Dave better watch his step.

These charges have only been brought because Dave’s parents have had enough of his bullshit. The stealing charge is Dave charging $1000 of food to dad‘s tab at the country club. If Joe wanted to, he could have paid up. Instead he’s told the club that Dave had no right to charge to his tab. The club then went to the cops. And that harassment charge needs his parents to make the complaint, since they’re the victims.
