Do we know PPP's weight? You can get an approximate Basal Metabolic Rate- the amount of calories you burn by merely existing and allowing your body to upkeep it self. For people that big, the number can be astounding. I just guestimated him at 6'4" 400lbs (I really don't know much about PPP), but I think he's on the taller size and I'm horrible at guessing weights when people achieve blob-hood.
Basically by waddling around the apartment for a bit each day he's burning around 3500 calories each day. Even getting a little exercise a few days a week can add another 500 just because moving a huge body like that adds a huge amount of weight to any motion.
I'm assuming it's mostly diet because just eating a normal 2000 calorie diet would already make a 1500 cal/day deficit which is way more than a normal chubby person could ever hope to healthily achieve. If he's adding some exercise in there too, which I'm assuming isn't too intense (be real, this is PPP) then that's just a bonus.
There's an adage: you can't exercise away a bad diet. If I may give a personal example: I was a bit overweight at 170lbs when I got into running, so I started doing 5k's 3 times a week after work. At my size/height the running app I was using put that at approximately 350 calories burnt in 30 minutes when I started and about 20 minutes after I kept at it for awhile. 350 calories is approximately 1 12oz soda or 1 12 oz bottle of my favorite beer. In a few minutes of sipping I could totally wipe out the caloric deficit from that workout (not that there aren't other benefits- heart health, muscle tone, mental health, ect). My point was, there's a reason any good weight loss plan is going to focus on both, but diet is king when it comes to strictly shedding weight.
I haven't watched them in awhile because I can never tell when they're going to be on + 10 hour shows, but good for PPP if he's shedding the pounds.

He was willing to even give him the doubt that "oh I let her go on her own adventure in the woods" is true, but still told him off for even letting her go on her own. PPP's rant is peak "saying what we feel", and what we feel is that JFG, knowingly or not, let his wife of two kids potentially die, and I agree, why are we treating him with kid gloves? No one gave Casey Anthony kid gloves; it's only unfortunate the fucking state of Florida floundered that case.

i like his rant at the end about treating the jf/potatoes as a joke but now feeling guilty that he sort of enable jf by not taking any of it seriously.
off topic, why are warski and ppp's cameras not centered on them? you typically want the camera centered on your face. this way, when you rock back and forth, your movements are mostly captured in the view of the camera. is this on purpose so we can see their background? it is very distraction.
