2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

Sucks to see it happening. Makes me wonder if it was let to happen; tho I'd guess it's mainly incompetence that was allowed to grow and take shape. I've talked to recently retiree's in the US Military and those that are close to retirement; most have said that the current military won't be able to handle a fight that well. I could see this happening in this case.
Plus it would be interesting to see if the Iron Dome was hacked; it would put some major eyes into the infosec community on who dunnit (if it can be reliabily prove, that is).
I honestly don't know what the israel response will be, but hey, if they go the samson option, that'd be something.

Pros:
- They are incredibly small and lightweight
- They are difficult to detect with radar
- You can fly extremely low
- Take off and landing can be done from a soccer field or equivalent

Cons:
- Significant training time required
- They are loud as fuck and easy to visually identify
- They are slow (~30 mph)
- Low weight capacity (one person plus gear, two with a heavy engine)

This is definitely going to be a case study for future military applications.

The main problem I see is that you can't really use it to move many troops since there's a limit as to how many you can realistically take off from an era without everyone getting entangled.

But even then a couple of guys with aks behind enemy lines can gun down some civilians before they are taken out.

I'm curious. Since this is technically a parachute (?), would attacking paragliders be considered a war crime?

Trying to get Bing to generate the USS Liberty Incident to post on twitter and say a US ship was attack and it is shutting me down at every opportunity.
Paragliders though are very old school shit and impressive.
They were flying low too so it was a little different with the self propelled motors.

I can't believe this is an Israeli false flag. There's no way the Mossad would kill Jews in an attack. Maybe they'd kill Americans (USS Liberty, Operation Susannah, 9/11?, etc.), but not Jews. So assuming this is a legit Hamas operation, here's what we've got so far:

Step 1: Fire a bunch of rockets at Israel to expend Iron Dome missile batteries.
Step 2: Send in paratroopers using paramotors while Israeli air defenses are down and storm the border with pickup trucks.
Step 3: Capture settlements (lol) and even military bases (lmao even).
Step 4: Take Israeli civilians hostage and bring them back to Gaza.
Step 5: OY VEY IT'S ANUDDAH SHOAH all over the streets.
Step 6: ???

If this is the full extent of the plan, I don't see how this would end with anything other then all the Hamas fighters involved in this operation getting killed and Gaza getting razed. This was clearly planned out, so I figure there's got to be more to the plan that hasn't happened yet. Maybe Hezbollah will invade from the north? The PIJ will raid settlements in West Bank? Syria will retake the Golan? Or all of the above? Then there's the question of how Iran might figure into this.

Complacency kills. There was at least a platoon+ element in it that was slaughtered. The jihadis literally walked up to the fence and cut a hole in and didnt encounter any resistance til they where inside the walls. Lots of dead IDF in nothing but underwear.

Why not post the source? What is to be gained by just saying " I heard a guy say some shit happened in so and so" instead of just disclosing where the info comes from?

Anyway, from Clash Report on twitter, the militants appear to have taken a little old lady hostage. No idea where that account gets it from, but the weather and chaos match up with this being current.

It might also just be a case of dying on their sword because they see the writing on the wall. All their backers apart from Iran are increasingly neutral or even friendly with Israel. Their position is going to be untenable anyways, so why not go out with a big blast. Evidently they surprised the IDF.
