This whole conflict is just one massive shit show.
On one side you have a bunch of ravenous islamofag extremists Shouting "ALLAHU AKBAR" while dragging hostages across their streets and stomping on dead corpses.
On the other you have a bunch of Zionist IDF shitstains who are gonna start a bombing campaign that'll make the "Rolling Thunder" bombing run from Vietnam look like firecrackes in comparison with 10 times the casualty rate.

Israel has been hit somewhat often with larger barrages of missiles what was new was a massive ground invasion. The IDF had Gaza contained with the fence and they were likely just overconfident and got caught off guard.
