They don't believe in a Jewish state because they believe the Messiah will come down from Heaven and give them an Israel. Man trying to make a state happen is the folly of man. Also there is that whole prophecy that a generation after Israel is reborn the world will end and if you make a state called Israel you are inviting doubt upon your faith when the world hasn't ended a generation later.

Almost 300 deaths in less than 24 hours is embarassing for Israel. Remember when they only had 8 or 12 deaths in one day and then they squashed Hamas in the hundreds? The world is not the same anymore.

Remember that this is not a PR move to convince the West. The West will support Israel in almost any case. This is PR to stir emotions in the citizens of those ME countries. Remember that Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, and it's actual people support Palestine almost unanimously. Continuing talks with Israel while this is happening will not be advantageous for the ruling classes of the Gulf States.
