Every other Muslim entity in the region has played with a certain degree of cynical politics, brinksmanship, and realpolitik in order to extract leverage from various players in the region. Even Iran, notoriously antagonistic on the global stage, has obeyed a certain patient rationale in trying to shit everything up. Even here, while Iran and the QUDs are involved, the state has a certain gray-zone deniability which means it'll probably just be slapped with more sanctions atop a pile it already largely ignores.

Palestine, uniquely, seems to throw shit around and expect someone else to swoop in and protect them from blowback. Even Pakistan doesn't get to this level of a death wish.

They expect Israel to blink, like they have in the past.

I think given Bibi's position being in such peril (corruption allegations, protests against measures intended to alter the court / codify a constitution, and a general embarrassment that this happened under his watch and must have taken months to coordinate), there's no chance in hell the state blinks. Gaza is really fucking small, which matters even more when you consider how easy it is to apply drone warfare over such a small region whose electricity you can pretty easily knock out.

In the process Israel might be so weak that other forces may get involved smelling blood.

This is the only line that I can really imagine they believe, even if I think it suggests they're complete idiots. They have to believe that they're going to inspire some big uprising to take them down - ignoring that Israel has a military so far ahead of their shit, with patrons whose pockets are endlessly deeper.

This is what Israel must deal with—a country run by medieval religious zealots who want them wiped off the face of the Earth. Thanks to bonehead Democrats and traitors such as Biden and Obama, the possibility of war with Iran has increased.

The Iranian-backed Hamas conducted a surprise attack with sophisticated equipment. Biden and Obama made sure Iran was paid billions of dollars, which most likely was spent on weapons of war. First Obama paid ransom to the tune of $400 million to Iran, then he illegally sent another $1.7 billion in cash to the Mullahs running the show there—and he faced no consequences for his actions. (Democrats can do as they please). Now Biden wants to send even more money to Iran. They will use that to help fund proxy wars using their terrorist surrogates such as Hezbollah and Hamas. Perhaps the Biden administration wants to appease Iran and keep them from developing nuclear weapons.

The attack helped Iran in another way: The mullahs wanted to stop the ‘Abraham Accords Declaration,” which would help normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. It appears that deal is off for now.


The attack on Israel is nothing new. The Palestinians train their children to hate Israel. They practice killing Jews in their classrooms. The cycle of hate does not get broken, so the terrorist attacks continue decade after decade. The Hamas ‘soldiers’ demonstrated the ingrained hatred by kidnapping Israeli women and children. They are probably being tortured as I write this. Iran commended the brutality. Their state media claimed the Palestinian people are acting in self defense.

This is a problem that won’t be solved any time soon. Various factions have been fighting over that land since history has been recorded. The fighting will go on no matter what. It’s unlikely that Israel will totally obliterate the Palestinians. The leftist media will angrily denounce Israel’s counterattack because children and civilians will be killed. Israel must play by rules, whereas Hamas are free to be as brutal and inhuman as they please. (They regularly uses children as human shields). Politicians throughout the western world will urge Israel to cool it—and they will.

I see another connection here with the Ukraine war. In Ukraine the combatants, particularly Ukrainians, have been celebrating the horrors of war, posting around lots of pics of mangled enemy troops on forums and in groups like NAFO. Now Hamas is doing the same and we'll see if Israeli forces can hold back from doing it (they've already released that corpse pissing video).

Part of it could be because the Internet is eroding the boundaries between external and internal messaging - in the old days, soldiers might swap photos of mangled enemies with their buddies who had been fighting the same people. Recall the photo ops with corpses from Full Metal Jacket. But now the private is more public than ever. And it's been pointed out many times how social media contributes to black-and-white thinking and a lack of empathy.

It seems like very much a new thing. I can't think of any conflicts before these recent ones where there was high-profile celebration of the most gruesome aspects of war. Most governments fighting wars, even the most brutal ones,normally try to downplay that and say they're acting for the greater good. Even the Taliban had an on-point PR initiative when they took over Afghanistan. It makes me wonder if we're seeing a general moral collapse across many different societies.

They're making a killing in the war and they can sell Hamas militants to Russia in exchange for cheap gear they can hand off to the Palestinians for profit and control. The problem with social media is people just see ravers getting massacred, innocent people getting killed and ugly rhetoric. It is very nerve wracking and definitely forced some people to change their minds. Progressives the ones who rabble rouse the hardest don't see the consequences of their rhetoric.
