You are a bit behind the science... the latest DNA studies show very clearly that they were mostly Phoenicians with a mix of the typical others like "persians" and greeks.

I think that this war is a clear indicator that humanity has stagnated.
Not enough of humanity is pursuing new frontiers, such as ocean exploration (I'm not memeing), or space exploration. As a result, we are overbreeding and cramming ourselves too close together all over, and we're just killing each other.
It's time to return to le hecking science. No, not the tranny butcher and stitcher science, but actual mathematics and aerospace science. I want to see us launch millions of humans in different directions colonizing every single object in the stars.

Fully agree. Morally Israel is justified to go eye for an eye mode. Hamas systematically eradicates Civilians and now they are trying to play the victim again.
However, it might still be smart to play by the rules just to avoid turning into a monster.

Oh 100%. The whole situation is nasty. As much as you'd wish Hamas would get stomped into their ground, but their tactics of hiding behind civilians will only ensure that whatever happens involves a lot of civilian causalities.
I don't know, my gut's telling me this is probably going to be worse than the 2014 Gaza war. I hope it doesn't blowup into anything bigger. Russia's not doing that hot in Ukraine and the west is depleted, nobody's really in that good of a position imo. I'm no Israel fanboy but I honestly hope they mop this up as quick as they can.
I am personally not worried at all about a nuclear war or world war scenario. None of the big nuclear powers like US, China and Russia have a vital interest that would make it worth risking a war. Keep in mind the USA and Russia successfully juggled their presence in Syria which was a lot more or a mess allegiance wise than an Israeli-Hamas confrontation, without ending in a direct confrontation. Our old boomer leaders might be corrupt, but they are pretty decent at avoiding direct war in the Russia-China-United States threesome.
The worst case scenario right now would be Iran and Hezbollah getting directly involved. (Egypt, Saudis and Jordan won't get involved for various reasons). That's not good and will result in a lot of deaths, but it's hardly a doomsday scenario. And even Iran with quite some internal strife and a (maybe overconfident) Azerbaijan lurking in the North is unlikely to fully commit.
Think about it if you are Iran right now you get all the good PR of having funded and supported the guys that gave Israel a bloody nose with little risk of retaliation. If Iran were to directly intervene not only could their conventional forces be exposed for being paper tigers, they would also give the US a free pretext to take them out.
