2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

I don't think I am entirely clear about just what I mean. When I say if a building is used as a fire position and it can be subesquently leveled, I mean this literally.

Israel has total Air and Artillery supremacy over Gaza. Urban Warfare is only effective if the Urban environment is a defense. But if Israel intends to make the rubble bounce every building in the city is a death trap. A target waiting to be destroyed. People have this vision of the Israeli Army going "Door to Door". But that is not going to happen. They are going to go "Block to Block", and if they take fire from a Block, that Block is going to be pounded by air dropped bombs and indirect artillery until the firing stops.

And then the troops will advance to the next block.
Block?

The Eagle is relentless

I have read 70-80% of this thread, only missing pages back during the 1st day and I haven’t seen this video yet, though I’m sure it has already been posted. It’s a live a feed of a large residential building getting taken out with 3 missiles at the foundation. The 1st bomb on the roof is supposedly a warning for people to GTFO. Wild.

post an example of any random pro palestinian person feeling bad for the average israeli civilian, ill wait
Take a break. I know you’re emotionally invested because you’re Jewish, but take a break. You have a right to be angry if your country men or a family member was hurt by this, but take a break if you’re just getting angry. It doesn’t help to stew in your anger and make an ass of yourself.

I think only a very few posters are serious and those dudes are mentally ill. Most people don’t want any sort of violence on any level.
After lurking in Ukraine threads, I kinda think we have some retards who aren’t just War Otaku/ arm chair generals.

It's called a "Door Knock" and it's Israeli doctrine when they are not trying to kill someone specific

Mentioned by another Kiwi but: an opportunity like this hasn’t happened for 50 years and probably won’t ever happen again depending on israel chimping out.

Never a better time for Iran and Hezbollah to finally put up or shut up. It sounds like they’re being fucking cowards and in a few weeks when the 300k or whatever israeli reserves are in place it’ll be impossible.

Fucking iran get to it

Are you ready for the call?

WW3 seems unlikely.
The fact that there is a lot of posturing coming from both sides and worse hasn't really started to happen my doubt the world is really ready for a WW is growing. What I forsee happening is, Israel and the Palestinians will eventually calm the fuck down, hostages die maybe a few are saved, government will quietly compensate relevant families, Joe will say a few copypastas and everyone will move on and focus on the election. No one is going to win this and the only country to really lose anything might be Saudi Arabia. Palestinian's religious mission supersedes there own mortality, dying is not important to them; Israel gets more financial aid and I'm sure their resistance will be a net positive politically in Israel. But the relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel are completely shut and locked doors now. I might be way fucking off but, eh!

This isn’t call of duty and this is a naive worldview. War isn’t fun and they all know it. The end result could be that they themselves, the ones who decide to engage, are the victims of the war machine itself.

So basically, the same tactic the Russians did with Grozney.

I'm kind of conflicted about how effective that would be.

Or what Haafez al Assad did in Hama.

Urban environments are only valid defense structures if the defending Army either has the capability of defending it strategically from stand off artillery, air power, supplies and reinforcements, or if for some reason the attacking force has some desire to actually control and administer the city in its state.

Hamas has none of these scenarios operative. Which means the Gaza Strip, far from being a fortress is in fact a death trap. The only defense Hamas has (and ever had) was Israels desire to not be the literal incarnation of Satan in any fighting around Gaza. But that limitation has been removed in this scenario.

What's ironic is all Hamas has to do is release them as a gesture of goodwill without preconditions, with the hostages told to tell their government they request negotiations. That would throw such a spanner in the works of Israel's war frenzy propaganda.

They won't do it though. Shame really.
What do you think their strategic goals are? It's to provoke a reaction, to really create a war frenzy, and hopefully get Hezbollah, Syria, or Iran dragged into a fight. If Israel has to fight in the north while Egypt is menacing the south, there's a chance for them to at the very least kill a lot of Israelis. A general war could ignite a civil war with Arab Israelis, and the West Bank is right there as well, not too far from Gaza really. Jerusalem is half circled by the West Bank. They're only capable of drawing more sympathy as Israel glasses them, and forcing others to act to uphold their policy commitments. They're willing to make a massive, massive sacrifice to force others into the war.

You could be right, but at the same time when you mobilize that many troops, you're going to be taking an economic hit. Reserves are not full time soldiers after all. They're engineers, mechanics, scientists, teachers, taxi drivers, civil servants, truck drivers, farmers, etc. How long can you really afford to continue a siege? Unless the number is scaled down after a few weeks.
That's what makes me believe this won't last too much longer. I still don't think there will be a full scale invasion, but pretty much a quarantine of the Gaza Strip. I have no idea what will happen with the West Bank.

Reminds me of protestors standing in roads. If your only defense is your opponent being nice, maybe don't take that action.

This is fucking wild...

Scroll to the timestamp at 05:25:30 (the time in the middle of the screen, not the youtube player timestamp).

After a few seconds, you will see a flash of light in the top right corner cam, whilst the cam on the bottom left cuts at the exact same time. They bombed the fucking camera! That or a shockwave took it out.
