McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

McDonald's phasing out self-serve soda fountains

McDonald’s is phasing out self-serve pop machines in dining rooms around the country, forcing dine-in customers to ask for refills at the counter.

The phaseout will be complete in 2032, McDonald’s said in a statement. The change comes as the Chicago-based hamburger giant puts more emphasis on digital orders.

“This change is intended to create a consistent experience for both customers and crew across all ordering points, whether that's McDelivery, the app, kiosk, drive-thru or in-restaurant,” the statement said.

The State Journal Register, which was the first to report the news, quoted a franchisee in central Illinois that plans to install power and plumbing for a beverage dispenser behind the counter when he renovates next month. A remodeled McDonald's in California has already removed its self-service pop machine, according to Business Insider.

McDonald's are stupid arrogant faggots. Their competitors won't do this, so yeah good job ceding more of your business.

I love McD's chicken items. A double McChicken with a side of nuggets every once in a while really hits the spot.

Is there a secret menu name for this combo?

A triple McChicken?

Two and half Chicken?

I didn't realize a Double McChicken was a thing now that I think about it. Unless we're just talking about 2 McChickens.

Been eating at McDonald's too much whenever there's a decent app offer; every couple weeks.

Burgers usually end up being lukewarm turds but somehow when I get chicken it's hot and tasty. I don't get it.

My guess is that the chicken patties on average are cooked to order while most of the beef patties have been sitting in the warmer for up to 10 minutes or whatever the modern timer is.

Particularly the smaller sized patties in the Big Macs and the McDoubles. There used to be an emphasis to have a warming drawer full of them at all times, so they are pressure cooked on the stainless steel surface nine-at-a-time continuously ahead of time to save a few seconds off drive thru times.

Orders for chicken patties are less voluminous and presumably the individual chicken patties are more valuable. Pre-cooked ones were only really kept in the warming drawer during rush hours. Otherwise they got dropped in the fryer frozen to order.

The quality really is different from location to location. Very lucky to have a halfway decent one 10 minutes from my house
Can confirm. I have like 6 nearby and 2 are ran by blacks who fuck up the orders everytime. Another is ran by Indians, and I don't fucking trust poos to touch my food.
The other 2 are ran by Mexicans who actually make sure the place is clean. The food is good, quick and I usually get more fries than usual.
Oh yeah and one ran by Koreans in campus town.

McDonald’s has been putting out two limited-time sauces, mambo sauce and sweet & spicy jam, as of late September.

I had the mambo sauce with my fries yesterday and it had a nice spicy kick to it thanks to the cayenne pepper in its ingredients list, the flavor was like a more fruity ketchup with with vinegary aftertaste. I’d have it again in the future.

Weird, all the one I went to in the last 3 years were making everything fresh, so you always gotta wait but it is also always fresh.

When I worked there it was different and we always needed to produce in advance.
Not that there weren't times were it was needed tho, there were I made like 400 BigMacs in three hours when there were these damned 2 for 1 Coupons

Maybe they still to it in advance for drive-through?

Whenever I order anything from McD's I ask for extra mayo on the McChicken, no salt on the fries, no pickle on the cheeseburger, etc.

They have to make it special so it comes to you fresher.

Never had a McRib in my life, how disgusting are they, enough to avoid them next month or is it a just-get-it-over-with kind of purchase since I am already still seething after finding out Canada gets bigger McChicken patties than we do
