FYI I am not defending Israel or the IDF but it is a confirmed fact that Hamas killed and kidnapped hundreds of noncombatants and are holding them hostage, including women and children. Normal people are not okay with what Hamas did last weekend. You can't watch women and children being dragged away screaming and not have a visceral reaction too it at a primal level. Maybe I'm desensitized from gore or read too many accounts of atrocities, but these things don't drastically impact my opinions on an issue that does not involve me. These situations are far too complicated to keep tallys of crimes committed by either side. Horrific things happen in wars, especially in millenia long blood feuds. The perpetrators deserve what is coming to them. I will not blame the Israelis for doing what they deem necessary, while also not cheering it on like I would if it took place in my country. Keeping up with these events has more to do with my curiosity than personal emotional attachment.
