Idk man. I'm a guitarist and I've dated a few chicks who played. Not only did they not have the same autistic drive and passion for it I did, they were weirdly jealous that they weren't as good as me and were legit pissy that I had no interest in being in a band, while they were. It was like some weird competition mixed with an inferiority complex. Like I play solely for fun because I enjoy it. They played because they were "artists" or whatever the fuck.

However, the girls I've dated who had zero fucking clue about music beyond "me likely that song/band" were far more interested and engaged in my hobby than the ones who could play. They'd be more than happy to let me teach them something simple or sperg about the specifics of the instrument or what I liked in a guitar, whereas the actual players would get shitty if I wanted to show them something because "I can do it myself" or would glaze over and check out if I started talking about the fucking pots I installed or the minute differences in the new pickups I got.

Obviously anecdotal, but its honestly not all it's cracked up to be having a significant other who's into the exact same hobby you are. A little interest or overlap is fine and dandy, but there's a limit I feel.

Three reasons to explain this.

1. They care less about the art and more about success. Bitch-Thinkers care more about their trophies and success as opposed to how much they like something and how to be better at it. People will demand this of you. They are also Bitch Thinkers.

2. When you put time into something, you expect that you know better than other people on that subject as opposed to someone who knows nothing. A person who knows nothing about a topic will hang onto every word you say if you're an expert. A person who thinks they are informed, will argue. This competitive attitude is put into direct competition with 3....

3. Female nature wants you to be better at something than they are. That's why if you haven't noticed, female singers and musicians tend to fuck the guys in their band they acknowledge are as good as or better than they are. They want you to be better than them and they're going to be shit testing you because they have ammunition to do so. If you're not better than me, you aren't high value.

It's why women are so competitive in general. Kind of a weird complex, but it's just how brains are wired. Don't date someone into your hobby if you want someone to take an interest in your hobby that you can rant about to.
