I just can't understand how anyone running shit in Hamas thought this was a good idea.

Sure, you kill a few hundred Israelis and prove that you can get the drop on them but by killing women, children and a smorgasbord of people from various other countries you have basically given the international community an excuse to allow your enemies to wipe you off the map.

You have given justification to a military that is many times more powerful than you to use 100% of their force against you whilst completely alienating fence-sitters so that they won't care what happens to you.

One theory is that they were promised support by someone, maybe that Hezbollah would hit from the north at the same time. Then the videos came out and nuked any possible moral high ground for them, causing their would-be partners to back out. Or the whole thing may have been puppeteered by Russia via Iranian proxy, and Russia's aim wasn't to topple Israel but to divert Western resources there and away from Ukraine.

It goes back to the US intervention in the Moro Rebellion in 1900 IIRC. I don't think Muslim theology is actually so absurd as to dictate that jihadis will go to hell if they get hit with pig fat, they're not sinning if someone else applies it to a bullet.

It really can never be underestimated how incredible the things they setup were. Not just to have the concepts and put them in writing after telling the UK to fuck off, but to add things like separation of powers so that even when we tried to fuck things up, it would be as hard as possible to do.

There is also footage of her taken at the festival wearing a Khaki/Olive colored dress that she is clearly not wearing in the back of the pickup truck. If she was alive, or in a hospital, they would have gleefully released pictures by now. Her corpse is probably going to end up in some rubble in a couple days with Palestinians screaming look what the jews did!! Assuming it still even has a head.
