ever since the attack began we have pics/vids of them taking prisoners. so the israelis are definitely in a taking prisoner mood.

though im not sure why the hamas fighters are surrendering. you'd figure they would be relegated to fighting to the last. you dont get 72 virgins by surrendering to the jews. also, if you beleive that you are fighting some evil invader trying to wipe you out, you dont surrender to them, you take as many out as you can. plus, do they think they arnt going to be treated badly and locked in jail for the rest of their lives, maybe even executed if the israelis feel like it would be justified as as a punishment for this attack?

my guess is they are hoping to live another day and be part of a prisoner exchange. which, if hamas in gaza hasnt killed all their hostages could be possible. you can argue that right the policy of the israelis is to assume they are dead and bomb targets anyhow, but once the bombing stops and the families in israel/america/whever hear their loved ones are still alive then there will be great pressure to get them back out alive.

There's no reason for it to be bullshit, the Soviets didn't reject taking nuclear bomb intel from their spies because they hated Murica. If it's useful it's useful. You guys are way unrealistically not pragmatic

I think some of them are just some kids who aren't indoctrinated to the core and after the adrenaline and rush wore off and the others around them died it might have dawned on them that dying right now wasn't that desirable after all.

that one idf soldier that got captured by hamas was exchanged for like a thousand palestinians
i doubt hamas is getting an exchange rate like that ever again, but that's probbaly the hope they cling to when they surrender
