Well, I really the Ukraine war is a good example of why infantry is important. If you just Thanos snapped infantry out of existence, this would have been one of the shortest wars in history. Russia has an overwhelming advantage in air, armor, and artillery assets. One of the reasons it's been such a slow slog though is because Ukrainian infantry is dug in like ticks, and occupies places which are difficult to advance upon. In the US army, infantry is called the "queen of battle" because like the chess piece, it can go anywhere. Ironically I think one of the main reasons the US has such an abysmal modern military track record is that it massively under invests in its infantry. I certainly think that if the US had of had a larger infantry force in Afghanistan that wasn't so tied to FOBs, it could have completely locked down some key strategic locations and made it very difficult for the Taliban to operate effectively. If you look at the current war in Israel, one of the reasons Hamas can't just do what the Taliban did is because they're locked down and don't have a lot of freedom of movement. That's not because Israel has a great infantry force, it's because it has more infantry than what's really needed to do this.
ur dum lol

infantry is important because generally in war you want to take territory, and infantry is what actually physically takes control and posession of territory.
you want to root out hamas from gaza, you need infantry to go in and physically drag them out of all their basements, tunnels and bunkers. artillery, planes, helicopters and tanks can't do that job. they can only destroy, not take over and control.

Uhm, exscuse me!?!? BLM told me that silence is LITERALLY the same as violence and that not speaking is the same as oppression.
How absolutely the FUCKKK DARE they not comment on this issue yet! They are literally beheading those Israeli babies and bombing those Palestinian Children with their silence! They need to pick a side RIGHT THIS FUCKING SECOND.

Why is it that entertainers and other mostly useless folk feel the need to even state who they support in things? Staying quiet is free, and it's less effort to not post stuff online. Am I missing something?
Because they can see the world so much more clearly from their view atop their tower. They have great insight that us regular people can't see from down in the street.

But seriously, all the famous people who are generally viewed in a positive light by most people tend to keep their mouth shut about politics and current events. Or they only make statements when there is an overwhelming popular opinion already so it'd be a safe bet. There will be exceptions but it's a general rule. As soon as a celebrity becomes obsessed with social media they start talking too much and alienate people. It's the celebrity version of terminally online. They get too wrapped up in Twitter likes. Either that or they start feeling guilty because they have more money than most people would see in a lifetime and turn to activism to mitigate that guilt instead of just quiet philanthropy

Unironically asking if you're autistic rn.

Give it to me straight guys. We have some friends who moved out to Amman years ago with their family…what is their survival chance in this whole shitshow?
The current King of Jordan is a legitimate bad ass who actually has combat experience within the Army he is now the sole commander of. Amman will be safe so long as he lives. I've not heard jack or shit about his sons though, which is either a good thing or a very bad thing.

Ahhh, yes, inject that copium.

If we get a Autumn of Autism to eclipse the Summer of Love out of this, I may no-shit die laughing.

yes they would be. Palestinian attitudes towards jews have always been negative and there are plenty of unprompted massacres by them during the Mandate and even before.
The Hebron massacre was the killing of sixty-seven or sixty-nine Jews on 24 August 1929 in Hebron, then part of Mandatory Palestine, by Arabs incited to violence by rumors that Jews were planning to seize control of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Hmm, 10 years after the Balfour Declaration during the beginning of the land grabs, and of course the Temple Mount was taken from them.
