Of course the Orthodox Jews support Palestine. Enemy of my enemy and all that. Remember the Orthodox Jews don't contribute to the state. They are excempt from the mandatory military service and they don't pay taxes but get support from the state. And if I recall correctly the goverment has some laws on the table to reduce these privileges (espcially the military service)

It's not all Haredi; for example, Lubavitchers support Israel and serve as chaplains in the IDF. Neturei Karta believe the establishment of the state of Israel by man, and not the Messiah, is against the teachings of the Torah. Anything they can do to bleed the state and contribute to the (in their view) inevitable fall of Israel is not only acceptable, its an obligation. They also seek out good relations with Palestinians and from what I hear they aren't hostile to each other.

I posted it to show not everyone is onboard with the governments actions, they are just one small group. Others support Israel but strongly disagree with the way they handle Palestinians. Its a complex issue.

I am not Jewish, but Jack Black is, and I am sure as a member of some small groups, it is extremely painful and sometimes people speak or post without thinking. I didn't take it as him necessarily thinking because he's a fat guy who made some good movies in the early aughts someone would actually care. If he does, lol.

I am in no way close to the event, and it hurts me to see a people with their backs against the wall and having civilians abducted. The violence is horrifying. Many people feel an urge to at least say something, if not a call to action.
