Look at how well Cyberfrog 3 did, and notice the total absence of any mention of it by the "culture war youtubers" when it was an active campaign.
Once Frog did the Flashcast/Masterson stream, there was no question about him being blacklisted in the anti-SJW scene. Which Rekieta all but explicitly confirmed on one of his drunken rants. It's difficult to feel sorry for his lot. He got kicked out of the mainstream by untalented self-serving SJW hacks, only to spend years elevating and building a network of untalented self-serving anti-SJW hacks who in the end went along with kicking him out of there too.

Has the interest in Comicsgate died? This thread used to go at a mile a minute but seems to only get a few posts a day now.

All the chatter is about lolsuits too and there seems to be nothing else going on.

Right now CG is entrenched in a long cold war between the "Comicsgate Kings" and the "CG Punks" led by unlikely leader Patrick Thomas Parnell, consisting of the much more numerous smaller creators in Comicsgate along with the more dedicated orbiters. This started when Malin began going on twitter screeds labelling struggling CG'ers (the growing majority of CG'ers) that wanted to turn to Kickstarter to cover costs as 'traitors' and 'anti-CG'. The slum people appealed to Frog, feeling it would be nice if the biggest names in the movement didn't defame them for simply trying to make CG comics that were already struggling to make ends meet. Frog responded, by declaring his unconditional support behind Malin no matter what he said or does. Omerta. Familia. Tony Soprano. For some reason Frog expected the peasantry of Comicsgate to still be loyal to him after this. Perhaps precedent taught him Comicsgaters were willing to accept any level of abuse. He was wrong. Parnell stood up to Malin in his private DM group, which coincidentally led to Dale Keown cancelling a joint-owned project the following day, along with a number of similar 'coincidences' against his business projects since then. But a surprising majority of fellow creators have stood by him. If Comicsgate is a lifeboat, then Parnell is like a floating log bobbing around in the ocean. But for most it's all they have.

Other than the elderly handful of "Kings", the only regular of note still going on Frog's streams is Matt Bahr, who is only around because he hates Parnell for his own reasons. Other than that, Frog is having to drag up the bottom dregs of CG to fill up the show, like Narwhal, Dan Lawlis and even dusting off ole Crystal McGee from 2018, and then angrily efap the streams of other Comicsgaters that have walked away from him.

I don't write it up because I fell behind for a few months and it would take too long to catch up. There also doesn't seem to be much interest in reading this stuff between people tracking the fraction lines forming in the greater Anti-SJW sector.

I don't have a strong opinion about July's TM lawsuit one way or the other, but those of you who wanna see July burn should take note that Rekieta has (predictably) taken Masterson's side here and thinks the ministry has a good case.

For anybody who knows how Rekieta's legal predictions usually work out, that should be cause for worry enough, but then also this happened the other night:

The one guy doing the most comic business is Eric July and now that discussion is terminally pozzed by Dick Masterson & Vito and their haters who already decided Eric July won his lolsuit. Besides that there is only action with things like Patrick Thomas Parnell getting the boot from CG or finding Mandy Summers porno. Plus lawsuits like the Jon Del Arroz divorce (update attached)

People mistake pointing out his bad choices and missteps....raising room temperature with videos, lashing out at people for asserting their legal rights, extremely poorly expressing why the sex pest trio and their stooges are wrong; as some vendetta I think.

But an objective look at the latest volley; with a sober Rackets nary a glass in sight cogently arguing trademark law (his omissions, including the small level of both parties not being taken into account as his purpose is coloring the internet sphere against black rapper not providing actual analysis of the merits) versus a stumbling, inarticulate Eric burying the entire lead, attacking his opponents, and making assertions that can backfire at court on settlement talks and siccing his fans on them.

If Dax spreading slimy misinfo about black rapper's charity was volley 1, Riley stalking and harassing his brick and mortar volley 2, this is the third volley and unlike the other two, Eric's stumbling may have actually handed Dax a W by elevating petty harassment to an internet Lolsuit.

You win Lolsuits by 1. avoiding them 2. grifting them making more money than you lose in the suit (Dax's speciality) 3. or quietly handling them so they go away.

I mean neither of us need to go over the legal acumen and track record of Nick Rekieta, but I also remember the gaggle of dumbasses here who thought the Vic case was going to be a cakewalk and victory for trad dad anime christians everywhere for years right up until Rackets shoved the whiskey bottle up his backside and took a picture for the whole world to see. They had to build a containment forum for them on account of that there was so many of them shitting up the place, gassed up on Rekieta-brand hopium.




July's otherwise solid claim on Isom is marred on account that he never trademarked Isom itself. He copyrighted Isom, which protects his ownership of the work from people reproducing the comic or referencing any of the material within for their own works (even though it doesn't reference the name 'Isom' once), but not necessarily the use of ISOM as a name. This complicates the Isom merch he's been selling off of his website more than the comics themselves. Those aren't "literary works" by any stretch of the imagination and thus presumably aren't protected by his copyright. Compare the indicia of Isom #1 vs Amazing Spider-Man:

Now presumably Marvel & DC had good reasons to declare the characters and 'distinguishing marks' (such as logos) in their copyrighted work as trademarked material. Say what you will about the garbage they publish, but their legal department is and always has been on point. Why do they go to the trouble? To prevent shit like this I guess. Seems like a preventable slipup of the 'rockstar lawyers' if you ask me. So we have a trademark dispute between ISOM's active, older and established trademark vs an inferred trademark derived from a copyrighted work as applied to shitty merch. Again, I think July will eventually be able to unmire himself from the main object of contention (the comic itself) but the merch aspect promises to be a deep pain in the ass, and that appears to be the strategy ISOM is going with - introduce reasonable doubt on the matter of July's non-trademarked hats and shit, and then expand that into arguing that the comic of Isom itself was sold on account of 'brand confusion' - as opposed to directly going after the comic right away.

If July's description of the brutal terms ISOM presented him with are accurate (and I have no reason to assume they aren't), then he may not have had any choice but to go ahead with the lawsuit. Once over though, he should assert his ownership of relevant trademarks of all his OCs up to the Marvel & DC standard ASAP.

Well, like I said, I personally don't care if July wins or loses the TM thing. I have no stake in it. I've just given some opinions in passing. I will confess I loathe Masterson's crew, but it's not like I'm beholden to July in any way. I have bought none of his shit, and I am cognizant of the fact he's got his own issues.

Besides, there's been way more funnier shit going on. In addition to Rekieta's continued descent into utter madness, we've also got the very real possibly that JF Gay Rapey might have mashed his potato. Null called it when he said it was gonna make national news, and the RCMP is apparently treating it as criminal matter now.

I just wanted to introduce some levity into this before everybody gets up their own ass and starts beating each other to death based on who they hate the most.

I know at least you appreciate the Rekieta curse jokes, which is why I made it. It is my sincere hope you had as good a laugh as I did seeing him put on the medallion.

Yes... objectively it's possible to analyze the lawsuit separate from Dick. At least in parts. @Mister Dongs seems to be trying. However, even that presents something of a problem for a lot of people seeing as Dick and his people are the ones pushing the narrative to the charity there's consumer confusion. This has been thoroughly documented over in the Rekieta and Masterson threads.

People can think about black comic book guy whatever they want but... I'm sorry... I think most of the people going in on him (IRL) are way more fucking gross than he is. It's not shocking to me people want July to win so that Dick, Vito, and Riley lose. I think it's become a matter a human nature at this point.

ugly but funny, reminds me of 2 local businesses that sued each other because they registered the same name, so they went to court and found out they only made a business registration, but not filed a trademark for their business.

since trademark is awarded on first to file basis. July can trademark ISOM for apparel like hats and t-shirts and sue the ministry. lol.

I think the Frog botherer’s issue is he’s became what he pretended to be. His ego mania means he has to be king and he needs to surround himself with yes men and sycophants.

This could work if he was an actual king and tall poppy syndrome means he can remove the actual heads of the people he feels threatened by but in the playground of the internet everyone can pick up their toys and go and play with the fun kids leaving the Frogster eventually sitting alone and bitter.
