I'm not excusing ethnic cleansing. Just move on in my response to the current conflict in regards to the repeated failure that was the Arab military. I've been to Israel, Palestine and various middle eastern states and I can tell you without a hint of irony or joking, that (nearly all) of the land that was lost in 48, 67 and 74 will NEVER be returned. The Israeli's have incorporated it completely into their country. I remember clearly thinking I was in Israel only to look at a map and realize I was right in the center of the Palestinian Authority. What the Palestinians must do is move on and try to make the best of the situation with the cards they now have. They can talk about history all they want. But the truth is that most of their history is either a) made up or half the truth or b) some nonsense justification of their violence. For 1,000s of years the history of the Palestinian was the same history as the Arabs. Only since the 1970s has it been different. Hell the Lebanese have more of a right to Israel than the Palestinians. I have family that lost property during ww2/right after. Everyone has just gone "well that fucking sucks but I'm in a different country now time to make the best of a bad situation". Instead of sitting here crying about how my family doesn't own the land we use to. We were conquered and we moved on. The Palestinians need to do the same. Ask yourself this "realistically how long is too long to give up and realize you lost?" Many Jews had that view but then in 1948 the Jews suddenly got their own state and that view disappeared. If the Palestinians in the 1980/90s had PEACEFUL protests like in India they could have won. But they choose the sword. That's great, but it's one thing to move on and another to excuse ethnic cleansing, which is what you were doing and why I typed all that out. You've complained about Holocaust denial and historical disagreements on this thread yourself, so "just move on" seems like an odd position to take.
