Mexican cartels swear they will stop the Fentanyl epidemic - Apparently tired of media bullshit, being blamed for drugs that supposedly aren't theirs and the inaction of both the US and Mexico governments.

MEXICO CITY -- Banners appeared Monday in northern Mexico purportedly signed by a faction of Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel claiming that the gang has sworn off the sale and production of the synthetic opioid fentanyl.

But experts quickly cast doubt on the veracity of the claim, saying that fentanyl — which has caused tens of thousands of overdose deaths in the United States — remains one of the cartel’s biggest money makers.

Prosecutors in Sinaloa confirmed that the banners appeared on overpasses and near roadways, but could not say whether they were authentic or who had hung them up.

As usual "experts" chime in "casting doubt" while offering no solutions or proof.

Translation according to reddit:
(First is the Tijuana Cartle the second are Chapos crew, the Sinaloa Cartel.)
ATTENTION: Due to the epidemic that plagues our country and our neighbour's and the loyalty to our principles, we want to aid government efforts and CDS to eradicate the lethal drug known as FENTANYL; now it won't just be forbidden as it always has been within our business but now we will persecute and punish the people who make, sell, transport, or lace this drug

Atte: CARTEL DE TIJUANA

ATTENTION: Due to the neverending misinformation by the media and the clear omision by the government to not investigate and pursue the culprits of this epidemy. In Sinaloa, it will be strictly forbidden the selling, making, or transporting, or any kind of business, involving the substance known as fentanyl, including the selling of chemicals used in its fabrication. We have never and will never be part of that business. Beware of consequences.

Att: Chapitos

Apparently the Biden Administration is doing such a bad job that The Tijuana and Sinaloa Cartels are now going to try and help policing the border.
Though probably not out of humanitarian concerns but because their customers are dying of overdoses they can't possibly project or plan for with the lacing of this shit on other drugs.

If they actually do a better job than the government, I am going to laugh so fucking hard that an organization more akin to terrorists than criminals has more legitimacy than our own goddamn leaders.
To be fair, the Cartels won't be handtied by the restrictions the Mexican government will, few though they be. They also don't give a shit about international condemnation and cannot be sanctioned.

They can do what the government can't, especially because they know how the people they'll be going after operate since they're in the same racket.

The question is how they let this shit happen in the first place. They already control the smuggling at the borders, they know who is moving where, getting what etc. Reminds me of something else happening right now...

I'm sure they made a deal with the Chinese or who ever it is doing this because they could lower their own costs. Or at least they got a cut, otherwise WTF, why would they wage war with each other but let the Chinese encroach on their market?
Now they see the backlash, both financial (their customers and maybe even members dying like flies) and in terms of what little good will/mutual understandings they may have with people or governments and are stepping up.

What ever the case, hopefully they end this and the people behind it.

It's just propaganda, just like Mencho buying computers for schools or CDG giving disaster relief supplies.

Hell, half the mantas are "We killed this guy because he was a thief, trust us".

Cartels are neck deep in with Chinese connections, who want to move fent.

In their statement this cartel claims they've never dealt in Fentanyl in the first place so I'm not sure how this will make a damn bit of difference even if they are sincere. Also they're just one cartel so...

This image is incredibly old.

Zetas have been hunted to extinction for example and it doesn't show CJNG nor Viagras.
CDS is amidst internal war between Zambadas and Chapitos.

Why would the signs be fake? Do people frequently go out in public and hang giant banners on the highway while pretending to be the Sinaloa cartel? Sounds like a high-risk prank

Other cartels do it to try "tarnish" others reputations.

Mostly done when they turn someone into a 27 piece puzzle and leave him rotting in public.

So literally cheaper than gum? How high and how long will 1 pill last a typical user?
~5 hours and higher than you've ever been. A lot of it depends on if you swallow it, smoke it, or shoot it up. Also, potency varies from dose to dose, because it's being made from precursors and then pill pressed by some illiterate asshole in a shack somewhere.

here's another theory
drug dealers and pushers are known to use drugs themselves
maybe their own drug dealing employees are getting overexposed to fentanyl and dying.
having to constantly replace personnel gets complicated even when you don't have to worry about paperwork or paying payroll tax.
edit: im just saying i heavily doubt cartels are storing fentanyl in safe storage and distributing them in proper conditions. so tons of fent powder is likely gonna fly everywhere because of it.
