$100 max. This is for the birthday of someone I know that really likes whiskey.

Three Chord Amplify rye and Monkey Shoulder scotch are decent for not too much money. Both run low $30 in my jurisdiction.

Multiple times gold medal winner at the craft whiskey competitions. Yes there is a bottle on my shelf. Yes its fucking amazing. And yes, you can still get a bottle for 40 dollars. For now But only from the Virginia ABC store as they have a distribution contract. Good luck getting it anywhere else.

Three Crosses, Powhatan Virginia. Is it worth paying shipping if your state allows it? Yes. Yes it is.

Three Crosses American Whiskey

Default Title - $49.00 USD

Three Crosses American Whiskey is a unique experiment in aging traditional bourbon mashes. This high corn mash bill is matured using the time-tested solera aging system in which the aging whiskey is periodically moved into older barrels to blend with older whiskeys. Batches are only harvested from the bottom row of barrels containing the oldest whiskeys. This whiskey is never chill-filtered. Classic and approachable this whiskey is rich with the familiar notes of caramel and undertones of dark cherry and plum.

Well it depends on if the person receiving the gift prefers peaty flavors or not. For non peaty and smooth you want to go mostly for irish whiskeys. On that front I can recommend Green spot, Redbreast, Irishman, Teeling, Tullamore (specifically 12 year), Writers Tears, Powers and Bushmills. Those all have affordable categories that are quite good.

I'm quickly approaching my third year in my current career, and I've decided to celebrate each anniversary by treating myself to a bottle of whiskey that costs ((years x $100) +/- $50), so my budget is $250-350.

I need recommendations. Not a fan of bourbon, as they all taste the same and the flavor isn't very complex. I really like scotch, rye, Irish, Japanese, or Indian whiskeys (though not Amrut, because it's disgusting and tastes like your grandma's bowl of potpourri). I'd love an old vintage or something that's out of circulation. Preferably something with a unique/complex flavor. For reference, my 2-year bottle was a 1995 Glen Garioch lightly peated scotch that's no longer available except from collectors; it tastes like a slightly smokey sweet biscuit with toasted caramel. That's a flavor profile I really enjoy.

Open to recommendations.
