Not super important but even DeviantArt has #PeaceForIsrael ads. Clicking it sends you here, a journal describing the attacks on Israel and promoting artists to make art, posts, etc. in solidarity. While it does give a nod to Palestinians it's very pro-Israel. Comments disabled of course.

In recent days, the world has been shaken by an act of sheer evil against the people of Israel. Israel was attacked by the terrorist organization Hamas, whose stated purpose for being is to kill the Jewish people. Over 1,000 civilians were slaughtered and assaulted in ways too terrible to describe here. Hundreds of young people were massacred while attending a musical festival to celebrate peace, including dozens of people around the world from the United States, Germany, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, and more. In Israeli towns and villages, entire families were wiped out. Parents were killed while trying to protect their children. Babies and children were murdered. Thousands more people were injured and remain in critical condition. Many people, including babies, children, elderly, women, and men were taken hostage by Hamas. Their families are left devastated and unsure of the fate or safety of their loved ones. Alongside the people of Israel, the Palestinian people are also impacted in the aftermath of the terrible attack by terror organization Hamas. Hamas rules the Palestinian people repressively, uses civilians as human shields, and dedicates the resources it has to terror. Our hearts go out — not only to the people of Israel and their families — but to innocent Palestinians and those all over the world who are feeling the effects of this difficult time. People all over the world are looking for ways to help, and DeviantArt wants to show our support for the people of Israel, our Israeli and Palestinian artists and creatives, as well as everyone in surrounding nations who reject this evil act.

Israel-Gaza 10/16/23 Recap:
- The IDF eliminated the head of the Hamas Shura Council and the head of Hamas general intelligence.
- Hamas continues to target Tel Aviv & Jerusalem
- Hezbollah continues to target Israeli forces and equipment with small arms and ATGMs.
- The IDF launched strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
- The UNRWA stated that they received reports that Hamas had stolen fuel and medical supplies that was originally for humanitarian operations. (They deleted the post, but the IDF confirmed the reports).
- The IDF installed roof-screens on some Merkava Mk.4s stationed near the Gaza-Israeli border. They are for additional protection from drones.
- U.S. President Biden to visit Israel on Wednesday.
- U.S. Secretary of State Blinken met with Netanyahu and Israel's war cabinet - meeting lasted 8 hours.
- The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (includes the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit) is heading to the Eastern Mediterranean to join the Gerald R. Ford CSG (and soon the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group). USS Bataan, USS Carter Hall and USS Mesa Verde are part of the Ready Group.
- Iran's FM stated that "pre-emptive actions" by the resistance front against Israel could be expected in the coming hours. This was backed up by Iran's ambassador to Lebanon who stated that the warnings should be taken seriously.
- U.S. has placed around 2,000 troops on "be ready to deploy" orders - mostly for medical and logistical operations.
- Hamas stated they are holding between 200-250 hostages.
- Israeli forces around Gaza are reportedly holding final drills focused on joint strike operations.
- Ground invasion could have been delayed due to growing concerns with Hezbollah.
- Countries around the world continue to evacuate their citizens via flights.
- Humanitarian aid from Egypt crosses into Gaza via the Rafah Border Crossing.

Yup. A good reason to stay out of this shitstorm in the first place. You know, the reason why America became a superpower was because every other place in the world was bombed back into the Stone Age. Now, look at the only major nation NOT at war with someone now, China. Even if they are going through their equivalent to the Great Recession, they aren't actually engaging in hostilities like the West is.

I don't think Biden will be assassinated though. Aside from the loss of face for the Secret Service, too many Americans would secretly believe he had it coming in some way. Trump voters because Biden is a pedo cheater that persecutes Boomer protestors and pro-Palestinian people are rank and file Leftists mad at Jews cancel culturing them. So instead of getting a 9/11 moment of unity out of Biden's death, the US's political situation doesn't shift that much. The US military is stuck with the soldiers they have now and won't be able to replace them even if a draft was instituted.

I'm still wondering what Israel will do with all the people in Gaza if they managed to actually destroy Hamas. They can't kill all of them, they can't deport all of them, and certainly they can't just invite Israeli settlers to live there next to 2+ million people who hate them.
Honestly I don't think anyone actually knows what's the best course of action to take here.

I don't think anyone has considered that this could turn into a Highway 80 event. Not the actual event mind you, but the rewritten version from Modern Warfare 2019. I can easily see civs getting gunned down during an evacuation with how vitriolic either side is to each other.
I was expecting last week for something to happen after the only way out into Egypt was apparently fired upon. I've not gotten any less nervous about the possibility since then.

I mean, is there definitive proof it was Israel at all? Or is this just the ambassador's allegation without any real backing? One of the links to the allegation is dead, and the other is from Mondoweiss, which isn't shy about their disagreements with Israel.

Like, three years later, Islamic Jihad blew up the Marine barracks, likely with assistance with Iran.
