Even by Nick's modern standards, last night was strange, based on what I've seen of it. At least with the Eric July meltdown stream that lasted six or seven hours, Nick was basically required to respond in some way to the stream the previous night where July forced his way onto Nick's show. On the other hand, a lot of what came out last night appeared to have little prompting behind it. He was even coping about the Vic case for reasons that seem unclear, I'm not sure whether it was because Null had commented on it in some of the recent segments or whether someone in the chat brought it up.

I think the main takeaway is that Nick confirmed that he iced out Null from his show because he was butthurt about what was being said about him. As I have said before, what Nick expects from his streamer buddies are not genuine friends, but enablers.

He also said that another reason he didn't want to bring Null on as a guest was the possibility of super chats about things that are NAWT TRUUU as well. I don't know what his definition of that is, is Hedonism II not supposed to be something that happened? In any case, I don't see what could be done to stop that other than aggressively sweeping Nick's thread and making clear that criticism of Nick Rekieta was not welcome on the forum, which must have been what he wanted. But I am now wondering that the last minute cancellation of that one stream was not really due to "dehydration" or whatever excuse, but a passive-aggressive way to get back at someone who was pissing him off.

Basically what he wants is what he's done with Dick recently. Nick has absolutely beclowned himself about whether Dick was fucking with Eric July's business, or whether, even if he was, it was because he was concerned about charity fraud, and then Dick straightforwardly confirmed that he was trying to destroy July's business because he doesn't like the fucking comic, an opinion he came to before even looking at the comic.

And still Nick keeps digging. LawTube is not even a thing anymore, or to the extent it is, it is hanging on for dear life. Rekieta is merely a Juju Wack Pack member now. A pity that doesn't fit on a vanity plate.

IIRC, that stream was supposed to talk about some legal issue Ralph was in. I didn't get the impression he was trying to slight Null for something, but I remember thinking at the time Nick might have gotten spooked. Notably, Dick was working on Nick to try to convince him to mend fences with Ralph (which he eventually did). It wouldn't surprise me if Dick told him not to do it.

I don't know exactly what the big inciting incident was, but the general idea was something along the lines of Marvel and DC driving the comic book industry into the ground over the mid 2010s by focusing on political shitflinging over entertainment and that Comicsgate was supposed to remedy this by promoting artists/writers who intended to give "the fans" what they wanted instead of preaching at them about politics.

Oh, OK, I vaguely remember this now. People were whining because comics were going full on woke. I remember one comic where the superheros had no super powers -- like, one was fat, one was a nigger, one was trans or non-binary and the fourth was something equally shit.

I vaguely remember it didn't sell any copies as well, because who the fuck would want to read that? Comics have always gone for timely gimmicks. I vaguely remember shedloads of hippies appearing in comics back in the 60's and early 70's. But in the absence of a good story, nothing's going to sell.

Back in the 2010s, there were a bunch of older people reading mainstream comics who got mad and vocal about how bad & political the content was.
