One of his old artists Miss Phase made an account here and talked about how Dax was using his artists a couple years back. I guess he did pay them but he was definitely lowballing them

people never did it for free. some artists did not feel it comfortable to ask dick because they didn't wanna get potentially dropped by dick for asking for compensation. people do get swindled by internet fame easily like that. their fault? sure. i don't disagree, I just feel dick is to be held accountable for being well aware of this and strategically making use of this to keep a hold of a net total of 200 bucks a month.

there is the "fanarts" section in dick's website for fanart, not thumbnail art which is essentially packaging for the podcast product of his.

I was one of the artist, I was just reciting the situation. People weren't mad either. Some felt cheaped out on it. I got booted off of the artists bench for describing the situation to Dick, who promptly called me a "money grubbing cunt" because I had the audacious idea that maybe thinking that art that comes with the show itself might deserve some compensation (or the normalization of thumbnail artists coming with the intent of getting paid, as opposed to them coming with the intent of doing work for a big-time big-name big-patreon internet famous person).

After that situation, I just felt bad that I even asked for compensation, it just showed Dick had no intention after all, and other artists were right about being afraid to consult to him about it.
