Something I've noticed about several of the fundie families is this isn't true for them.

The parents still expect to have a large degree of control over their children, especially their daughters, even after marriage.

Rim-Job Duggar is one, Jill is another, and I remember the head of another fundie family wanting to build a large compound for his children and their spouses to live in on property behind his home. I believe other family members were able to talk him out of THAT idea.

All of these screenshots are from the Rod-specific sub. Also, they are currently sharing my desktop with Kelly Lenza screenshots, so that's really weird.

Heidi's family arranged a family photo shoot. Tim showed up as a surprise (to Heidi-- it was arranged with her family) and popped the question. She knew it was coming, though, because a redditor saw Heidi trying on and purchasing a wedding dress at the bridal store where they work. The redditor saw fit to post pictures of Heidi dress shopping to Reddit, and I hope they lose their job. Choosing a wedding dress is a big deal to most people, fundie or not, and the entire world didn't need to know what dress she picked.

There are tons more photos of each of these things, because Jill snaps and posts about 2 photos per second. As someone already said upthread, she's posting a lot of passive-aggressive stuff that indicates she's unhappy with someone. A logical guess is that she's unhappy with being left out of the engagement stuff, particularly since Phillip now seems to have been selected as the best son ever. There's also whatever situation caused Renee's courtship to end, but we'll likely never know what happened there.

My guess is whatever color Heidi's bridesmaids' dresses are so it looks like she's in the wedding party.

Whatever it is, I cannot wait. This is getting messy and I'm so here for it. I wonder if she'll object when they say, "speak now or forever hold your peace"...or knowing JillPM, she'll suddenly get the vapors and pass out and disrupt the service that way.

It's interesting to me that Jill has been completely silent about Samuel's courting prospects. He's by far the best-looking of the boys and turns 19 soon - even with his batshit mom he could have his pick of any number of C-list fundie maidens.

My guess is that Sam does the vast majority of the physical labor around the house (didn't Jill brag about him doing some construction work and farming or some shit?) and Jill and Shrek - mostly Shrek - plan on keeping him under their thumb as long as they can, because they're lazy pieces of shit.

Sam not only performs actual construction work, he is also the only manly food provider: he loves hunting and fishing, and is said to be competent at both.

One other thing about Sam, though: Jill is delaying his homeschool "graduation" longer than any previous Rod. He turned eighteen earlier this year and by all regards should have been graduated this past spring. But she's pushing it off another year, and he'll be almost nineteen before the next graduation "season" comes along. It's possible that Jill is trying to prevent her most useful son from leaving and cleaving by refusing to declare him finished with homeschool.

It's also possible that he's completely illiterate and Jill is pretending that another year of staring at old workbooks for an hour a week will remedy this.

I thought I remembered something along those lines, but told myself that Shrek wouldn’t have the drive to actually go teach his kids how to hunt or fish. Maybe one of the church men along the way took pity on the boys and taught them some actual life skills.

Hard agree on the possible/probable illiteracy though.

I believe Heidi has a younger brother with a learning disability, so I imagine Mrs. Coverett didn't like Jill's remark at all.


Just found this, Samuel broke his nose playing football, ran into one of his brothers' head.
Poor kids never get privacy.
