Which men are those again? Because I know one guy who has adopted kids (with his wife), and only after they had a few bio kids of their own. I do not know any men who kill pedophiles and rapists in vigilante murders. And imo men turn on the families they’re supposed to protect with an alarmingly high frequency.

Step kids =\= adopted kids. Step kids are a fait accompli to marrying a woman who has kids. Adopting kids is when you decide to take on caring for a kid who has no parents at all.
Also, don’t get me started on stepfathers… well maybe you should, for thread tax reasons.
It is not uncommon for stepdads and mom’s bfs to hit on their stepdaughters. If Mom is enough of a pickme she may even take the boyfriends side of things and refuse to believe any allegations of abuse, or even accuse her daughter of “seducing” the stepdad.
It’s so common as to be a subgenre within incest porn (which is already way more popular than you might think.)

This kind of thing even happens with biodads, particularly in conservative religious communities. Women from religious upbringings are more likely to be sexually abused by their biological father than a stepdad.
So many fundie women will be like Meech Duggar and have no regard for their daughters safety but go to great lengths to protect male predators in their family.

Where I'm from everyone has kids from like three different partners because they're all white trash, and step-parenting is so common it's unremarkable. Anecdotally, most women I knew who getting molested at home were getting it from biological fathers, uncles, family friends, and older brothers, or multiple shitty short-term boyfriends of their mothers. Stepfathers sometimes, but they don't really seem to be more likely to do this.

In re adoption: adoption rates in first world countries have dived off a cliff since IVF became widely available, particularly in countries where the state healthcare system picks up some or all of the cost.
I have a significant number of family and friends who are adoptees, and none of them adopted themselves. Quite a few had lengthy IVF treatment.

There's also the issue that people only want to adopt newborns. There are tens of thousands of kids up for adoption in foster care at any given moment, and most will just age out of the system before being adopted.
I know international adoption is popular with the virtue-signalling crowd and full of issues, including straight up stealing and trafficking kids like one of the kids Madonna adopted and Tim Ballard's adoption org allegedly did in Haiti.
I know some fundies have adopted kids only to horribly abuse and even murder them (like some of the deaths associated with To Train Up a Child).
I don't think pick-mes or any other trad LARPers should have any kids, adopted or otherwise. They would neglect them bare minimum.
