People will meme about them selling their souls for success but the shift in mood was almost palpable when they decided to start grifting with their phoned-in podcast. If I had to pick a specific point I'd say it was right when they broke a long content drought with a video about their shitty cash trap smartphone app, only to get rightly lit up like a christmas tree by what remained of their old fanbase.

podcasts are so soulless compared to old school videos, just rich out of touch assholes pontificating on bullshit before it inevitably gets political once they run out of guests/topics.

She was always a bit of a wallflower due to not being a particularly eloquent speaker. She played a straight man to Ethan's wise guy - she was the level-headed normal person for Ethan to bounce off with his wacky antics; the hot knife collab with idubbz was a perfect example of this. They both seemed eager to lean into these roles back in the old days. I remember one of their old videos where they were playing with drones at the beach, and we got a look at what Hila looked like when she was filming. She was excitedly moving around, getting good panning shots and showing a creative engagement that only comes when you're enjoying what you do. At least, that was my read on it.
