Is...Lily trying to argue that Steven Universe is so bad, defending the show would be like pretending it's Citizen Kane when it's comparable to the Room?

It plays on a constant assertion that the show is so bad, all of her critic's who responded to her video are only attacking her character and nitpicking for the sake of it, and have nothing good to say about the show, including her latest critic, Hiding in Private.

Coincidentally, just earlier today, Hiding did make a follow up video defending Steven Universe, and directly addresses the crux of some of Lily's biggest points in her own video


Hiding's comments on basic media literacy especially addresses just why Lily’s style of criticism is so fundamentally flawed in the first place (22:20-23:50)

I'm not aware just how far Lily is in her own video, but her current approach and admiration for HBomberguy's fast paced style of criticism is absolutely not going to work as a response to Hiding's video, who has more videos to upload defending the show.

Even as a desperate clout bid to capitalize on Steven Universe's 10 year anniversary, any video she makes as is will be blown out of the water. And judging by my prediction of her Pokémon video only getting below 70k views is right on the money, I feel good betting on this new video not doing well.

There's a reason that the farms drills in the fact that a-logging is a bad idea. There's a fine line between ridicule and obsession and Lily stepped over that line a long time ago.

An anchor around her neck is such an apt analogy for Lily; it's an anchor that both ties her reputation to this show, and an anchor that has her stuck mentally and physically to the same dingy apartment for years.

Even the original A-Log, Anthony LoGatto, learned to take the L and move on. Lily knows this next video is her one hail mary push for relevancy, and she still refuses to take a different review approach, one she's clearly never going to be ready for as Hiding has multiple videos in the making.

Lily is going to let that anchor snap her neck before admitting any accountability for her declining situation.

Peet has never shown restraint on stuff that would assist the channel, and get people talking. But we are not at a time when the standard that video essays, and even rants standards are raised. Peet is too incompetent to keep up, and too lazy to innovate. So it doesn't surprise me this video is the last chance to salvage the channel. We know it's going to fail because again, all the channel's mistakes are nobodies but Peet's . And more so how much the asshole refuses to learn.

Man, this is depressing to read. Jerry's relationships are always stupidly shallow with obviously fake affection, but sometimes it still hits you how unhealthy that marriage is. This is their ANNIVERSARY, the big important event everyone talks about, and their method of celebration is to send each other shitty anime edits on a public tumblr, across a country border because they live 1000km away from each other. There's nothing personally meaningful about any of their interactions. In fact, I'm pretty sure they barely recognize each other's real face, because all their conversations are in discord calls and all their memes are with their anime OCs.

This is the sort of behavior I'd expect to see in a couple planning a divorce. But no, this is just how they always live. I have no idea why they haven't moved in together yet, seeing as they're clearly toeing the poverty line you'd think they couldn't afford two rents. But no, we're stuck seeing someone's anniversary present be a fucking anime meme edit, and it's recieved well.

I'm assuming that this is their public anniversary gift and they actually did something meaningful in private. I hope to god at least.
