Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

That's funny, because of all the HAES people I have seen who did get ED treatment, I didn't notice any trauma therapy. They either went in the opposite direction like Bekah, or they constantly preach to fatties what they learned in treatment while refusing to get fat like William. All they learned is it's okay to eat, the world won't end if they do and they aren't fat, so they should say yes to indulging because the point is to get them from being underweight to a healthy weight. You don't get severely underweight or to 300 plus lbs if you don't have trauma of some sort.
Or take the "there are no bad foods" advice. The concept really doesn't mean "eat whatever you want, whenever you want it." It was used for anorexics who have developed insanely rigid ideas about good vs bad foods and who need help getting out of their black and white mindsets around food. It means eating a cookie, white flour, or whatever food you have arbitrarily decided is "bad" isn't going to going to make you into a whale overnight and ruin your life forever and possibly also make your loved ones die.
OCD wearing the clever disguise of an eating disorder strikes again.

“X months of operating costs”…

Is that a euphemism for ‘paying me’ because I don’t see too many operating costs for a resort that’s still a pipe dream.

Maybe it’s a legit business term but my only experience with business is tail end consumer.

ETA: sne’s been ‘advised’ they’re up against a higher bar because the demographic being catered to isn’t considered deserving of these priorities. Assuming here priorities mean the different spa experiences.

What does she mean by higher standard? If she means the building codes as amended for the disabled and morbidly obese, those codes are there to protect them. But great way to build good community relations in the area where you want to realize your dream. She been taking lessons from Negz?

You would think that after such a lackluster response, they would take a fucking hint that this is never going to happen. But we all know this is just money lining their pockets at this point, so they'll keep grifting in the name of this lie for a while.

6 days left btw and Ash wants you to know the money will all go to good use soon line her pockets.

I think a lot of these people end up so online that they think there is a higher demand than there is, just by not branching outside of their tiny community more, so all they hear is the voice of one tiny (in general terms, especially on the internet) niche community.

Also its good to know the majority of HAES people are in it for the cope and aren't actually completely retarded enough to give her money.

Spa got called on their funding shit today. People realized that they were being tricked into thinking the funding was actually going towards the project when in reality they are taking the money to try to prove to investors that people want it.
Laura Burns did make it clear on the Zoom meeting that this round of fundraising was just to keep the project alive and provide proof of interest to potential investors. And she also makes it clear on the indiegogo FAQ that it's just a first step in a years-long project. She even included an infographic with a "realistic" (actually, hella optimistic) timeline, for those who found it all too tl;dr:

So I think her level of transparency for this fundraiser and where the money's going to go is acceptable. I don't have a problem with it.

However, in the lead-up to the fundraiser, she, perhaps unwittingly, created a lot of unrealistic expectations. Virtually all of the social media posts about the Appalachian have focused upon getting people excited over various amenities and experiences she wants the place to offer, which is fine—but in a way that made it sound like the project was further along than it is (or ever will be).

Hell, I was certain Burns already owned land in the Canaan Valley, because why insist upon putting it there, given how remote it is? The whole project is exactly the kind of world-saving folly a naïve trust-funder living her laptop-class life in a city would decide to build on a piece of rural land she'd inherited, so I assumed that was the case, and am honestly surprised it's not.

They have also admited the 2nd fundraiser they are planning in 2026 is for the same goal of obtaining money to prove there is a want.

"My business advisors in West Virginia have warned me that we are up against a higher bar [in the eyes of investors] than other retreat centers would be. Because we are catering to a demographic that most people don't think deserve to have these priorities considered."

Good lord. It has nothing to do with being "deserving," and everything to do with profitability. A fully-accessible, all-inclusive retreat center, as she describes, is going to cost so much more to build, maintain, and staff than one built to regular specifications, and to run it profitably will require charging significantly more for rooms and services than a regular retreat center.

Are there enough deathfats and wheelchair users willing to travel all the way to a remote locale in West Virginia in order to pay those kinds of rates for a fully-accessible experience? No. There aren't. As someone who lives outside of the terminally online Body Positivity bubble, I can see that. And I'll bet if I asked any of the run-of-the-mill, non-politicized fatties I know how they'd feel about flying cross-country, renting a car, and driving over three hours each way on twisty mountain roads to get to a retreat center built to cater to them, they'd probably just say, "Fuck that; I'd rather go to Disney, if I'm going to travel that far."

It's not about deserving; it's about money. Period.

These people have never heard the phrases, "Shit happens," or "Life goes on."

The situation between Israel and Hamas is fucked up beyond belief; horrific shit has happened, and more is to come. But it has nothing to do with this fundraiser, and defending herself for continuing to hold it is just performative idiocy.

"We didn't anticipate that we'd be asking our communities to be excited about a spa while people's lives were being devastated in these horrific ways."

Maybe she ought to give some thought to all the quiet, mundane, but still horrific ways in which people's lives are devastated every single day in order to allow her to exist as an overfed, obese, overaged child who speaks of retreat centers and spas as things one "deserves": The sweatshop workers who have to wrestle her oversized clothes through their sewing machines over and over and over again for 16 hours a day. The low-wage workers in just about every sector of food production worldwide, who work soul-deadeningly monotonous jobs, often at the risk of severe injury or death, just so she can keep shoving cheap grub into her piehole. The EMTs, CNAs, RNs, and other first responders and health care staff who suffer disabling, career-ending injuries while trying to move fat people.

But none of that matters to her, because to take a stand against the destruction of those lives would require her to look in a mirror, see her own culpability, and make real changes in the way she leads her life—and why do that, when she can simply hand-wring in a conspicuous display of socially-sanctioned anguish over a conflict that, however ugly, does not directly affect her, and that she can do nothing about?

I hate the phrase, "check your privilege," but goddamn, that's exactly what she needs to do.

$20,000 to cover crowdfunding expenses. This bitch 🤣
That's code for snacks. Those Doritos won't buy themselves.

I hate the phrase, "check your privilege," but goddamn, that's exactly what she needs to do.
She's the oppressed fatty so her oppression points outweigh her privilege points. That's how these people think. It doesn't matter what the situation is. They will always find a way to make themselves the victim.

I have absolutely no idea why mizmoose is so fat:
View attachment 5447888View attachment 5447889View attachment 5447890

Nope, no idea at all.
Pardon me while I throw up.

I like mozzarella sticks as much as the next person but 350 of them in a month? That's like 10 a day. Every day for a month. I can feel my arteries slamming shut just thinking about it. And the less said about a butter burger the better.

Spa has been BEGGING all day on multiple accounts to just help them hit $10,000:
Look at all those great perks!

A lapel pin for $25! Anybody who put money towards this larp needs to have their heads examined.

They've hit $10K; with more hard begging, they might hit $12-13K:

The only donors who are unlikely to regret it are the ones getting $25 or $100 off at SuperFit Hero for donating the same amount, and maybe the ones who chose a Zoom yoga class—they'll at least get value for value, even when the project dies on the vine.

Evie, Jesus would tell you to put down the fork, and stop consuming a wildly disproportionate share of household resources to everyone else's detriment. For starters.

Why should anybody value you, Evie, when you obviously don't value yourself, and only value them for what they can give you? What a fucking toddler.

Lizzo rips off her skirt and pretends to be Tina Turner.
Must admit I've never seen anything quite like this before.

View attachment 5448965

As an aside, I assume she's uncancelled for being an abusive psycho? Because being fat and black overcomes any personality failures?

I was trying to find a clip of Tina Turner doing this performance when she's the same age as Lizzo is now. Lizzo is 35, and Tina Turner is 54 in this clip-- I'm not even close. Regardless, check her out:

Start about 4:10 to see the famous transition from slow to fast paced (in Proud Mary) that Lizzo is trying to imitate. Also, Turner toured performed, complete with the dancing, into her 70s, before dying at 83 after a long illness (that was apparently mostly, if not entirely, age-related).

I always hear about Lizzo being an example of a morbidly obese person being able to move and dance just as good or better than a skinny person, yet I never see it. She always looks slow, clunky, and out of breath.

Even if I were to be charitable and say that she's good (and to be clear, she isn't), you can't deny that that she would have a much easier time, move quicker, and her moves would look better if she wasn't so fat.

So here I am, just laughing and holding my head at their animal choices.

I already discussed the disadvantages of chickens. Let's also add in that chickens can smell. Badly.

But their smell is NOTHING compared to sheep and goats. Especially sheep. Holy fuck.

They're going to need EXCELLENT fencing to keep their flocks from merrily roaming off. They're also going to need excellent defense against predation. The sheep will especially need it. They're also going to pay out the fucking nose for veterinary care for those sheep, with their penchant for parasites from their diet. They'll need a regular shepherd, because goodness knows these lardasses won't be paying attention to their flock well enough to notice issues with individuals before they become deadly. And, most importantly, they'll have to work these animals because they can become heavily matted and gross and that matting impacts the animals' quality of life.

And unless they have >50 sheep, there aren't enough to turn a profit from their wool.

The goats are dirty as fuck and require a lot of cleanup. They stink. They're destructive. And they're dumbasses that get themselves into dumbass situations. I already discussed what it takes for goat milk, which they'd have to collect (and hopefully process). Goats attract flies like it's going out of style, also.

It's obvious that these dummies have never spent actual time on a farm or with owners of flocks to see what's involved in animal husbandry. It pleases me that they'll never get this project off the ground, so no animals will suffer under their lack of care.

Edit: Spelling is beyond my limited capabilities, apparently. Feh.

So basically the troon ranch, only without the benefit of even one or two able-bodied men making an attempt at the necessary physical labor.

I know HAES fats are notoriously delusional, but it is still shocking that anyone actually believes this is a workable idea to the point they're even willing to chuck $20 towards the grift. Do these fat, spoiled, pampered fucks just take for granted that there is some kind of inexhaustible supply of skilled and/or able-bodied slave laborers they expect to materialize for the purpose of catering to any wants or needs the fatfuck has, asking for little to nothing in return because it's a goddamn privilege to serve them? There's stupidity, and there's entitlement, then there's whatever the fuck excess adipose tissue does to human cognition that results in deciding this idea checks out.
