What conspiracy theories do you believe in? - Put your tinfoil hats on

While using Windows 11 for the first time I realized there's a lot of functions missing that would normally be there on older versions. They're still there, but you need to access them through a more convoluted method. I'm just saying if I was a 5 year old learning to use a PC from Windows 11 I would have a bunch of hurdles to go through. Whereas I learned from earlier versions of Windows which I feel some prerequisite knowledge to understand how to use the computer in the first place.

I was just thinking, maybe this might be a case of Hanlon's razor, but are tech companies trying to make the next generation less technologically literate than the last? We've seen on the Farms there are dumb zoomer/gen alpha users trying to start threads on their phones. Whether or not it's because they don't know how to use a computer is questionable.
I'm of the opinion that, on average, you needed to be born in the 80s / early 90s to be "naturally good" at computers. By that, I don't literally mean naturally. But you would be exposed to computers at a time when they were beginning to be accessible enough, whether at school or home, that they weren't rare, but, they weren't perfect yet. You still had kinks to work through. So if you wanted to do stuff on a pc, you started to work on it. Whether this is soft or hardware.

But now? Most tech has matured to a point where it just worksTM. So no longer to people have to learn about it.

My other thought is that when there stopped being a Family PC, and everyone got their own, the search for porn and the consequences of it became easier and easier to hide / avoid. You didn't have to stay up, find porn, jerk, and then hide the evidence.

True, I mostly learned in the 98/XP era. I feel like I would have learned more if I was introduced to computers at an even earlier stage, like at the Commodore era, I would have a more intimate understanding further than what I have now. But at least I did learn what a script/batch file was and how to write them.

What I've observed lately is that there are a group of zoomers who are actually quite knowledgeable about technology, but that's either because of them being more educated from going to better schools who foster their interest or from learning about it on their own using the internet and sheer autism alone. Either way I predict there's going to be a divide in the future as technology becomes more advanced. You're going to get the Just Works crowd who barely know how a computer works and the smaller group of autists who do.

More than likely yes. The reason I pick 80s / 90s is just due to availability frankly. Sure, if you start even earlier you'd have learned more, but that's assuming you'd have learned at all / been interested.

Oh yeah, there are smart zoomers in tech because different avenues opened up to them. Coding, I think I'd argue, was much more available or at least interesting to implement. I think they are the minority though.

It'll go the way of most things, like you said, many of the "it just works" and then the autists. You can see this in cars.

-Derek Chauvin is completely innocent, George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose.

-Global Warming is not a real danger but instead a mechanism to fundraise and restrict the rights of individuals. The climate has always fluctuated, there is nothing dire about the state of the climate now, regardless of the scale of human impact.

-I believe that homosexuality primarily occurs because of childhood trauma. (Source-I’m a homosexual)

-The (US) government wants to disarm you so it can inflict tyranny on you never before imagined.

-I believe that the holocaust probably occurred but many of the personal stories and testimonies of survivors are highly questionable if not outright proven false. (See-Anne Frank’s diary and ballpoint pen)

-Transgenderism is part of an elitist effort to sterilize and depopulate society. It is also intended to normalize the sexualization of children. In 10 years or less pedophilia will be a mainstream part of the LGBTQ movement.

-Something is definitely up with whatever the government is doing to the water supply.

-The vaccine was not properly tested and has caused the deaths of many young people.

-Something for sure was up with 9/11, what exactly I can’t tell you for sure.
Sir, this thread is about conspiracies not straight factual information.

It has everything to do with Smart Phones taking over.

I know people who are 30 that can't work a fucking computer to save their life, people that used to have a basic understanding, but it all went out the window because they became glued to their smart phones around the age of 18-21.

It shocks me how true this is, I have someone I know online who needed help installing mods for a game, and it amazed me how little he know about actually navigating a computer. Me and him are close in age and its wild how different our understandings and abilities surrounding computers are. While generally I think Smart phones are good advancements in tech, the fact people are getting more and more incapable of even simple computer use will undoubtly fuck us over.

It's a snake eating it's tail at this point. We're at the point where we have out of box solutions for everything, so 99% of users just need to download an app and 99% of software devs just need to pull 800 packages from npm or maven to hack something together, so everyone has a basic level of understanding how to get shit done because they're not forced to learn more. On one hand software is a tool, people want easy to use simple tools without having to read a war and peace of mauals, on the other same applies to devs and we're seeing a generation of devs growing up who'll only be able to put together shitty mobile and web apps and even shittier desktop apps. Software development is a complex dumpstefire with a lot of different kinds of dumpsters, but on the topic of software literacy I think the above mentioned is they key factor.

You might have an initial response of "no whey!" but I have my own theories about the recent great cheese debate. Null knows the culture here better than anyone and I think there is a method to the madness. Both Americans and Europeans are sure to have a cow if the quality of their cheese is called into question. What if this is all a ploy to milk the situation?

Who just recently acquired the ability to receive items by mail in the US? Couldn't this just be bait to secure some fromage tonnage? Perhaps someone is returning from exile and will be in a position to receive such delectable dairy delights... There's even an obvious phase two available to double-dip on the situation: "Oh man American cheese has gotten so much better while I was gone! Maybe it really is better than that European garbage..."

Are you saying Null just wanted free Cheese sent to him?

Who wouldn't? Even the low quality ones could be utilized for his feeding interests. I'm saying he has the means and opportunity.
*looks at his post in the Middle East shitshow thread about Google uploading a Pro Palestine Video on a dead channel*

You know, not the most insane thing I have heard today.

I believe that the devastating fire in the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris was deliberate arson by a muslim. There was a wave of church burnings across France which are largely attributed to muslim immigrants and in the case of Notre Dame, Macron came out with official statement about the cause of the fire literally whilst Notre Dame was still burning. There was no possible way to have a confident assessment of an accidental cause. They came out with the statement to head off that it was deliberately set ablaze by someone. Frankly, I don't recall the official explanation itself sounding that plausible.

Notre Dame was undergoing some renovation at the time so there was fairly easy access and I recall there being a photo of someone on the scaffolding who wasn't one of the builders.

The motive for covering it up is obvious of course. If it were a muslim trying to destoy a Christian symbol and such a beloved one at that, there would be strong public blowback.

Another thing to note is that Notre Dame burned down exactly on the one month Anniversary of the Christchurch shooting. (March 15th, 2019- April 15th, 2019)
In the aftermath of Christchurch several Muslim terror groups had made comments about getting revenge for the attack, and the shooter mentioned France prominently in his Manifesto, so its not impossible for a lone wolf or terror group to burn down Notre Dame as retaliation for the attack.
