It looks like Sam is going through the cycle that media personalities who have direct contact with their audience go through. Where they start out being themselves and gain popularity for their personality/skills but most importantly, the authenticity they put out. At this point when faced with criticism, they are either able to shrug it off or genuinely take into consideration to change/improve themselves. This adds to their popularity positively
They gain very, very loyal hardcore followers because the nature of their media is usually niche or controversial. The hardcore followers become a double edged sword. They get gassed up constantly and intensely by their followers. Combine this with their growing base and their egos inflate and they feel invincible
But then inevitably what always happens is they face criticism for the first time with their new ego. Sometimes it's because they do something worth criticism. Sometimes it's because they've grown in popularity outside their niche so they get criticism from normies who aren't as invested, or extremely PC normies who want to label every single thing as a slur, like "Oh my God" and "lame."
How they react and act from this point is what turns them into a cow or not.
The cows are the ones who can't help but react poorly and obsessively. They hyperfocus on the critics, electing to engage with them which in turn attracts more and more trolls who love poking at cows. They ignore their supporters or turn so touchy and sensitive that even a helpful or constructive piece of advice/criticism is attacked. The cow may actively turn on the remaining supporters, accusing them of not being loyal enough or fake this whole time. They may simply ignore their remaining supporters while in a frenzied back and forth with the detractors. Then none of what people originally loved or even beloved them for remains. It's just some angry sensitive bitch baby who sustains their delusions of grandeur with their handful of remaining sycophants and basically reacts in arrogant anger to every poke and prod
Everyone from Callie, DC, Chins have gone through this cycle. This cycle takes down even personalities like Anthony Cumia and Joe Rogan whose reach and popularity were in the millions
I may be speaking too soon when I say this, but in this community Yaba and FFG seem to be the only ones who manage to swing out from the cycle, however close they may get to that line to crossover to lolcow
Even though I normally can't stand watching FFG, I resorted to watching her when Yaba was out recently to deal with her family matters. At first, I was annoyed and was like oh right this is why I don't watch the banshee. But as the week went on, I came to understand why she has such strong, unwavering support despite all the criticisms. Whether the criticism be valid ones or not valid ones that are motivated by jealousy of her financial success, FFG basically ignores them. Even if it can be jarring or hurtful that she refuses to listen to even supporters' critical feedback, I will say it's incredibly refreshing to see. Because a creator not letting the preferences of a few means it's overall good for the group. This creator isn't afraid to lose supporters. This gives off authencity
Yaba was able to shrug off criticism before, jovially making jokes or being a good sport during a back-and-forth with a critic (this would often turn the foe into friend). Then she went through the cycle, where she became extremely reactionary and sensitive, most seen on Twitter. When she came out of the cycle and escaped the crossover to cow, she overcorrected and became too compliant to criticism. Yaba is afraid to lose supporters. Which sucks because the voice of the loud few are from dipshits. For example some dipshit must've told her "Oh my god" is offensive because you can hear her catch herself from saying it and say "gosh" instead and I don't know why but I can't stand that shit.
It just sounds so unnatural. And maybe because she wasn't like that before. Yaba was never afraid to lose supporters for how she acted or said. One example being her asking her chat to put a "1" if they've contacted Nader. Then she told her mods to block everyone who put a 1. That kind of savage shit isn't really there anymore
Not sure which way Sam is going to go. The FFG route, Yaba route, or cow route. This may be surprising but I actually like(d) Sam. So I am actually rooting for her. I hope she takes heed of the criticism about her disorganization/low effort/technical issues, because for real that's why I can't watch her, even though I keep trying to. The last times I tried, I was confused because I thought I accidentally clicked into a Callie react because Sam was just playing a video made by another creator and not saying a single word. For stretches of 10+ minutes at a time
I hope she learns to stop publicly reacting and fishing for validation to justify her chimp outs (Twitter, the whole cringe Arby's nickname shit). Even if the whole DC Hussy legal shit is over, Negz is a great cow. She has plenty of material and she should focus on that because no one cares about her other bullshit
