I'm at the point I've just come to the conclusion that women can't be "one of the boys". I've seen an all-homo teamspeak server crumble cause a lesbian showed up. I've seen guilds disband cause the "just wanted to play the game" woman shows up with her first name as alias and a selfie as pfp to stir shit. I saw a WoW character with a full female first and last name for a name, and I don't even think it's ironic or made up. Women are so used to being revered and worshiped that they'd rather not do something if it couldn't be credited towards their full real life persona. That's why you see tik toks of women reposting old greentext stories but on top of a video of their face.

During Wrath I was in a raiding guild, a priestess joined and she wanted to heal for us. She was ok but not up to doing 25m hc raids. She didn't like that. She started talking to the GM in private. Flirting with him. Sending him nudes and shit. He is a married man with 2 kids. He politely turned her down and a few days later she left our guild (with a few hanger ons she's accumulated) and joined another. A few weeks later she's the "girlfriend" of that guilds gm and their progressions crawled to a stop. This isn't to suggest that women can't raid. Probably a good fourth of our raid teams were women and they were good at their roles.

The female space marines thing legit makes me seethe. Space Marines aren't really dudes, they're barely even human. They're murderous, destructive automata; that would be liquidated the split second the Imperium won the eternal war and conquered the galaxy.

This is something that I don't think enough people who are interested in the lore actually get. A part of the process of creating a space marine is literal brain washing. They put a device on the mans head and it plugs into the plug that has recently been implanted in the back of his neck and it proceeds to indoctrinate him on the ways of the chapter. How to fight... etc etc.... You go in a normal man you come out a killing machine and if you forget a massive chunk of your childhood in the process? meh. The Imperium didn't need that anyway!

People that complain about it also generally don't seem to care or comment on cases where the genders are flipped. My IRL female friends have absolutely no issue going after men 10-15 years younger and see no problem with it. The sad thing is some of them think these men will want to settle down and have a serious relationship with them and not just a one night stand.

Both of these seem to come from the same spot, I've noticed. Mainly that women seem to either have a really hard time with object permanence or they just don't consider themselves accountable in their heads.

The example you give is fine, but the vast majority of age-gap relationships, in my experience, are due to gold digging women or weirdo men with arrested development who want to get into the pants of a teen girl. Age gap is always a funny thing too, some of it is just a function of men and women maturing at different rates.

I don’t think it’s that deep, ideally men try to get the best woman they can find and women try to get the best man they can find. The problem for women is that as they get older, they’re just not as attractive, with few exceptions. The problem with age gaps for women is that it means at a certain point, likely starting in their mid or late 20s, the higher status men they want are increasingly out of reach, which makes them feel bad. As a society, we’ve deemed that women feeling bad is a societywide crisis that must be resolved. A woman is not allowed to have hurt feelings ever.

It feels like most of the men here just sort of vent or joke, while this shit feels like life and death to them over there, like they're engaged in some important battle. Women don't shit talk each other like men, and they're hyper sensitive when they hear it.

That's a lot of it too. If a man has a choice, he'll usually pick a woman closer to their fertility peak. Amusingly that's usually just a few years younger then the Half-Plus-Seven that's socially acceptable. Which, if a man is 40-41 pushes that to 27, which benefits the just about to hit the wall woman, instead of the 20-24 you'd more likely see. Funny how that works.
