Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

We'll file this next to the savage "Mild world of Milo" takedown piece which JOhn promised, teased, then... *shok de tout les shoks!* .....never mentioned again.

Eat shit, John. Or, in your case, JOhn-chef-ed Blue Apron.

The worst thing Brianna can do is get Milo's attention again now that his popularity is as high as it's ever been.

It's interesting that the "real" release of the game coincides with all this CON stuff that is breaking. It's almost like a perfect storm of failure. On one front, John has been betrayed and outwitted by his former allies who have exposed him as both trans-gendered and also as nothing more than a pawn in in their little chess game. The logs paint John as someone who is so unhinged and toxic that he no longer has credibility even among a community consisting entirely of con artists -- a veritable Mos Eisly cantina full of the purest kind of internet dregs and lowlifes. If there were ever a time when it would make sense to push the release date in order to save face let things blow over, this would probably be the time. But unfortunately, due to what amounts to YEARS of missed deadlines and empty promises, coupled with a looming backer revolt, that is no longer a consequence free option. Anything he does at this point will surely draw negative attention, with a very limited number of people remaining who will still buy the absurd victim narrative. The situation is a real cliffhanger; a modern day Kobiashi Maru scenario unfolding right before our very eyes. What comes next?

Wu releases the game, then receives widespead scorn. Though I'm curious to see what would happen if she doesn't release. Hosk says he will demand a refund, but under what grounds? It's far too late for a chargeback. A lawsuit for, what, 20-70 dollars? A class action lawsuit for a $10k crowdfund campaign? Either one will end up costing more than what he'll get back.

I don't think it really matters if the refund attempt actually succeeds in causing any money changing hands. If it gets any traction at all, on reddit or anything like that it will still be a lasting, shameful testament to John's ongoing failures -- which in my eye represents a resoundingly successful campaign.

As if there are any men out there that would go out of their way to speak to the rule 63 version of the Cryptkeeper.

I can only hope that one day, Wu's headphones prevent him from hearing an oncoming Mack Truck barrelling at him, and the last thing he does before getting flattened is to throw a bitch fit about "being mansplained to" at a man warning her about the truck.

Pretty sure that Wu was down with KLF before any of the clowns made it mainstream.[/QUOTE

Well, Wu is certainly Justified and Ancient.

His current threat is that a number of them will go to Kickstarter and get Brianna Wu formally and publically permabanned from creating new projects. This sort of thing has happened before, either when the person was incompetent or where there is a strong case that a project was a scam.
However, it's worth pointing out that until Brianna Wu releases her game, she is effectively banned from Kickstarter anyway. Kickstarter does not allow you to create another campaign until you have sent out all of the rewards for your previous campaign (and since one of Wu's rewards was Rev 60 special edition, she is required to release it in order to fulfill that requirement.) This is one rule that they actually stick to quite well. Even St. Anita was forced to go to another platform because she hadn't completed the promises in her Tropes Vs. Women Kickstarter.

Wu is effectively permabanned from Kickstarter, then. We know half of those rewards (posters, t-shirts, etc.) aren't going to be sent at all. And there's going to be one fuckhead that will raise shit about it.

Personally I'm hoping the backers who got "Have your name in R60" raise a fuss when they're inevitably not in there. Assuming they haven't died of old age already.

I don't see anything wrong with HoskStation or anyone else demanding that they get their rewards before she takes more money from the platform.
It's not like she's a regular working person, Frank's fucking loaded. They can easily afford to send out some t-shirts.

Moreover, even if she was a broke college student in debt up to her eyeballs, the fact of the matter is that this is what she promised her backers.
There's an ugly tendency to view crowdfunding as a kind of charity when it isn't. It's closer to investing. You tell people what you're going to do, offer then incentives to finance it, and then deliver on everything. They aren't helping you out of love, they're giving you money so you'll get them something. It's a transactional relationship.
Frankly, there's already a strong argument she's exceeded reasonable boundaries. If she can't deliver after all this time, the people she stole from have every right to fuck up her future projects.
Rich or poor, excuse or no, a deal is a deal. If you can't honor it, expect trouble.

I think the ironic (or something) thing is, Rev 60 is supposed to hit today, yet I'm looking forward to the Natural Disasters expansion and Art Deco Creator Pack to Cities Skylines
wait? when was August 30 ever a launch date? A month ago she announced Aug 29th and has since then moved the launch to Sept 6th, with screenshots.

John delayed the game another week, so not coming out today. Whoda thunk it?

EDIT: Ninja'd. I just want the salt to flow like its an avalanche.
