Yeah, I think they placed a cerclage, and if so, I'm actually astounded at how well Sammie explained it. If it's something else, then fuck if I know what she's on about.

Sammie's chances of carrying to term were always remote, but with this recent development, I'm pretty sure they've plummeted to 0. I'd be surprised if she made it to her third trimester, much less "late preterm".

I think the best we can hope for at this point is that the pregnancy continues as long as possible to reduce the likelihood of the most devastating outcomes of extreme prematurity. Every day that the pregnancy goes on means a better outcome for the baby, and we should focus on that instead of wishing it weren't happening at all.
