I don't know why we're surprised. He probably obsesses over her over some angsty repressed thoughts after she rejected him or came out as gay (maybe both). Since he hasn't had a social life for years, he can't replace his dead social circle. He is actually pulling a Chris-chan, Fictionalising his old friends and keeping them in his life by writing/drawing them despite them having moved on long ago. Eventually turning them into part of their libido and mental conscious.
This puts the word "pathetic" to shame, he actually needs some help. His Lesbian obsession is actually mentally harmful and not just autistic as fuck now

And thus, Dobson was thrown out of the convention, having assaulted a fellow artist. A ban was issued shortly after, with many discussions of Dobson's violence taking place in the weeks to come. Dobson's only response to inquiries concerning the incident resulted in said people being blocked from his Twitter, in his usual display of arrogance and dodging responsibility for his actions.
