A force of the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet eliminated four terrorists in Tulkarm: "They were on their way to an attack"​

The four terrorists, including two Hamas commanders, carried out dozens of shooting attacks and planned - directed from Gaza - additional attacks, including firing rockets. They were shot to death in the city from which several shooting attacks against nearby Israeli communities have recently been launched. There were no casualties among the security forces. A security official: "This is a message to Hamas activists - there are no cities of refuge, even during the war"​


Along with the battles in Gaza, the security forces continue to act against terrorism in Judea and Samaria: a force of the Israel Defense Forces (the special unit for combating terrorism in the police) at noon (Monday) eliminated four armed terrorists in the city of Tulkarm in western Samaria, who were directed from Gaza. There were no casualties among the security forces.

This is a complex operation with a high level of risk, covert in broad daylight that was conducted by the special operations division of the Shin Bet. In a joint statement on behalf of the police, the Shin Bet and the IDF, it was stated that the terrorists were part of a terrorist infrastructure directed by Hamas, which carried out dozens of shooting attacks and planned to carry out additional attacks including inferno attacks, shooting along a steep route and sending terrorists to the Israeli rear.

One of those killed, Ezz Al-Din Awad (28), was, according to the Palestinians, the commander of the al-Qassam brigades of Hamas in the city. In addition, it was reported that Jihad Maharaj Shahada (24), who served as the commander of the rapid reaction battalion in the al-Aqsa battalions, was killed in the operation. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that another terrorist was wounded.

Over the past night, 38 wanted Palestinians were arrested throughout the Judea and Samaria Division, five of them Hamas terrorists. Since the beginning of the war, over 1,350 wanted persons have been arrested throughout the Judea and Samaria Division and the Bekaa and Emekim Division, more than 850 of whom are affiliated with Hamas.
