Americans don't even know that the United States is a non-signatory to the 1892 Madrid Agreement that regulates international food copyright.
Legally you can call food whatever the fuck you want in the States. You can call kraft cheese singlets gorgonzola, make 'champagne' in a factory in New Jersey and sell the local heifer as kobe beef.

Not entirely true. The FDA requires truthful labeling of ingredients on all non-single ingredient items. If the cheese is just plain cheese, it can be labeled as cheese. But Kraft singles are only 51% cheese, which is why they’re labeled as “pasteurized cheese product.”

The reason you can call sparkling wine “champagne” despite not coming from champagne, France is because it’s truthfully labeled as sparkling wine and in America we call all sparkling wine by the generic name champagne.

And very famously, you can legally only label something as honey if it’s 100% honey, otherwise you need to be very clear that it isn’t honey. An example would be KFC having to call their packets “honey sauce” instead of honey

The US law just states they you can call your version of these products by the name associated with the style/flavor, which is considered trademark in Europe. this isn’t to trick people as much as it is to prevent artificial monopolies on otherwise common names. Forcing the name “champagne” to only be for sparkling wine from champagne, France would give an unfair advantage to imports when the products can effectively be the same quality and taste otherwise. This is also why you can sell a “New York Pizza” outside New York and a Philly Cheese Steak outside of Philadelphia.

Kobe beef is a little more complicated, it was actually illegal to import authentic kobe wagyu in the US until fairly recently, but there were Kobe breeds of cattle being raised in American farms, which were being sold as wagyu. It’s beef from those cows that you tend to find in your super market and in some restaurants. Now that the ban is lifted, you can order authentic A5 Wagyu, and many high end restaurants do it, and the farm it’s from is usually described by the seller in order to charge that premium.

Noooo you idiot Karen Farmers, you just can't read social situations! Everyone totally loved the goth hot topic belt worn by a sleezy 40 something jew-nosed man, it's you who don't understand fashion. In fact when the night was done, Donald Trump HIMSELF ushered him to the side and told him "You got big balls wearing a belt like that, I respect that" to which Nick replied "my balls are actually abnormally small, they seem large because they're currently trapped inside a device called a Balldo which can be used to fuck women when you're impotent" to which the former POTUS laughed knowingly and shook his hand with a FIRM, manly grip, which if you didn't know, is a SIGN of RESPECT. You just don't get it!!!
@Null i am sorry to tag you but I demand that this is to be read in your next stream, or I’ll be very upset and do nothing about it.

I'm behind on streams, did Null go on another cheese rant? I already didn't bother to finish the last stream past the cheese rant in that one.
He's sick of the Great Cheddar War of 2023-??? and would rather do something else. Well, I have some not so very good news I just read about on the Internet. :(

Some good news for the next stream, Amos Yee is back in prison for violating his parole. Sex offenders on parole are not allowed to use the Internet at all, but Amos updated his blog after he was released, so he's back in the slammer, looks like he is expected to serve his full sentence until 2026.

Post with more information in the Community Happenings thread. Discussion about this event in Amos Yee's thread begins here.

Thanks I was scratching my head trying to figure out what the fuck copyright could have to do with food ingredients for a while or if europoors were so bereft of innovation that they require such novel ideas as mixing milk and cultures to be protected.

Jersh apparently thinks nothing has been built since he left the states, and thinks he's being gaslighted with the superchat videos of the Costco-esque "fine cheese islands" that are commonplace in grocery stores now.

Yes, even Kroger.

Yeah, big factor in the US is that formulas and recipes cannot he copyrighted which leads to why we shouldn’t let Europe govern what he label our products as solely based on geographic origin.
There was an interesting case in 2017 where a douche bag tried to sue Walmart because they were selling their own craft beer, but that didn’t meet some random beer associations arbitrary definition of ”craft beer.” Nothing came of it, but it’s very similar to the cheese situation and champagne situation that was being mentioned

Because Josh seems so hell bent on the population size being in the 1000 people range and not a long drive, I decided to go for the meme and take a glance at good ol’ Ruckersville VA. Popular 1,325 as of the 2023 census.
They have 2 major grocery stores, Walmart and food Lion. But they also have an artisanal deli that sells Amish made meats and cheeses from Ohio. It’s not the widest selection, but it’s larger than Josh gives credit for.

They even bake fresh bread both tot ale home and for their sandwiches(Yelp photo)

I also found better cheese selections in other Virginia cities like Culpeper, but those have larger populations and don’t fit Josh’s standards

It’s interesting to see an artisanal cheese shop in a Virginian city of 25k people though

Update:

I checked the stock Ruckersville on the Food Lion website, ensuring it was set for pick up and not delivery. The results were far more variety then I could have imagined.

After Tuesday's stream mentioning the Man Hate thread I went to take another look. I had believed it was a femcel thread, probably infested with troons. That isn't the case as it turns out, after looking more into it.
I took some time to read a bunch of it, and it's a pretty valuable perspective, especially to men. It is really easy to find a man's perspective on things on the internet, but really hard to find a (proper, non-trannied) woman's perspective. Give it a read and try to compare it to yourself, even if some things may be a bit over the top.

The quality of the thread and the discussions absolutely improved after TMD. So I would recommend at minimum starting at Null's post and going through the featured posts.

Airports in the USA require you (and your bags) to go through security again when:

1. You have to leave the terminal to get to another terminal, which requires you to leave the secure area (I think this applies to Atlanta)
2. You switch airlines and they make you get your bags
3. You come in international and they make you go through customs

Otherwise you can get checked bags through to destination and avoid resecuriting.

What the fuck else are people supposed to do when lunatics refuse to let others exist in a functional manner and the cops do nothing? If they were blockading a forest set to be destroyed, fine. But that road has already been paved and people need to go places in order to live their lives. I'm sure the old man would have taken a different rout if there had been a reasonable one available to him. Even if that weren't the case, fuck them still, because the road is already paved.

Constant filming and then a sudden jump cut to the guy being shot. Dude was getting rushed and responded with lethal force. Calling it now, Panama John Hammond did nothing wrong.

Edit: I stand corrected. Just saw a video in the dedicated thread that shows from a distance. No lunge, Panama Hammond just gets sick of arguing and acts. Shit man.

We’ve already proven josh wrong on just about all of his cheese arguments, (outside of personal opinions) he’s just never going to admit it. But what else are we to expect from our dear feeder.

He’s been flopping around with what his true and final argument is and I think towards the end of the last stream he gave us a compromise; we have access to fine cheeses, meats and bread, just most Americans choose not to get them due to shit taste, being poor etc.

And on behalf of the cheddar cheese coalition (ccc) I agree entirely. Now let us end these senseless cheddar cheese brother wars.
