I'm not saying we should let someone terminally ill suffer in a state most people would say it's inhumane to leave a family pet in, but I remember see one Leaf posting about how she went to a doctor for depression to have the doctor repeatedly suggest MAID, now I can't verify authenticity obviously so YMMV, but going to a doctor because stress and general life is getting you a bit down and you can't seem to snap out of it, to have the doctor turn round and repeatedly say "well have you considered just fucking killing yourself?" doesn't seem like it's consistent with the oath to "First Do No Harm" that said, neither does Gender Cult bullshit, so I guess it's more of a "Hippocratic Suggestion" these days anyway.

Consider that many people in crisis will deny suicidal ideation when questioned by health professionals. Their depression may be profound, they may certainly have considered it, but they fear acknowledging that lest they be placed on a form 1, or risk losing access to medications.

There are people who are suicidal but they simply don’t know what method to use. Fear of pain, not wanting to make a mess, no access to specific means.

Asking if someone has considered or researched MAID could be an important tool in identifying risk. Asking doesn’t mean the doctor is condoning it, or offering it.

Unfortunately, many people will not understand the nuance of a question and will translate it into “my doctor thinks I should” because they’re hyperbolic or only hear what they want.
