This is the shocking moment a motorist shot dead two environmental demonstrators at near point blank range after becoming enraged over their road blockade in Panama.

Harrowing images captured the shooter, a frustrated elderly man, climbing out of his car to argue with the eco-protesters who had stopped traffic on the Pan-American Highway in the town of Chame.

He initially attempted to reason with the protesters, but moments later pulled a handgun from his pocket and began gesturing wildly as his frustration grew. Despite the imminent danger, the protesters stubbornly refused to curtail their demonstration and continued to argue back and forth with the disgruntled motorist, who became visibly more enraged with each passing moment.

For a time it looked as though the gunman was prepared to back down, but when one protester holding a flag stepped towards him, he snapped the pistol back up and fired at his target from mere feet away.

Terrified onlookers and other protesters helped move the victim to the side of the road and laid him down on the ground as the gunman calmly began dismantling a small barricade made of stones and tyres erected by the demonstrators.

Still undeterred, another protester wearing a black t-shirt and jeans tried to confront the gunman and was also shot. Footage shows how he recoiled from the shot, holding his upper chest in pain and with an expression of disbelief on his face.

He is shown hobbling away to the side of the road as other protesters run for cover, before slumping to the ground.

Horrified friends of the victims rushed to their aid, with bystanders seen applying pressure to the wounds in an attempt to stem the blood loss - but neither victim survived their injuries.

Police descended on the scene and promptly arrested the shooter, dragging him away in cuffs and bundling him into the back of a squad car.

The tragic incident came amid the latest round of protests in a three-week long demonstration against a controversial government mining contract in the country, officials said.

Several avenues in the capital were blocked Tuesday by small groups of protesters, while the Pan-American Highway was obstructed in several spots, hindering transport of food, fuel and medicine.

The deaths followed local reports that a demonstrator was run over and killed on November 1 by a foreigner attempting to cross a roadblock during a protest in the west of the country.

The contract, given final approval October 20, allows the local subsidiary of Canadian mining company First Quantum Minerals to continue operating an open-pit copper mine in a richly biodiverse jungle west of the capital.

The contract is for the next 20 years - with the possibility of extending for a further 20 years if the mine remains productive.

Since protests began, the government nearly passed legislation that would have revoked the contract, but it backtracked in a late-evening debate at the National Assembly on November 2.

In an effort to calm tempers, congress last week passed a law that imposes a moratorium on new metal mining contracts and left it up to the Supreme Court to decide on whether to allow the contract with First Quantum Minerals.

Environmentalists have welcomed this decision by lawmakers, saying indeed it is the court that should rule on whether the contract violates the constitution.

But a powerful construction union called Suntracs, teachers unions and other organizations want the contract to be annulled through a law passed by Congress.

As a result, they are continuing their protests.

I would like to add because I can already see the, "Inconvenience doesn't justify murder!" arguments. As has already been shown in this thread multiple times, not only

but it's also potentially lethal for people who are in need of medical care.
Shit like this is basically a terrorist attack on the basic infrastructure we all need to function if we're going to continue living.

Something they clearly didn't consider until after watching two of their buddies bleed out on the street while EMS struggled to get through their roadblock.
I doubt they've even considered it after that. You have to understand, these people are absolute, utter retards.

By the barest definition of terrorism it certainly counts. Ever since 9/11 most people believe that it's not terrorism unless someone gets shot or something blows up, but the only thing needed to satisfy the classic definition of terrorism is the threat that you will do X if your target does not do Y. If I tell my neighbor that I will blast Cher's greatest hits at him all night every night until he gets rid of his pitbulls, that does technically satisfy the definition of terrorism. The primary reason you can't accede to terrorism is because if you bend the knee, it sends a signal to everyone with an axe to grind against you that all they have to do is lean on you a bit and you'll cave to whatever demands they have. Hell, I could make the argument that what the tranny brigade does to Josh and the Kiwi Farms counts as terrorism, but journoroaches won't call it that because it's totally justified in their minds.

Were you deprived of oxygen as an infant or something? He was in the right. They had absolutely no business being there. Yeah it's sad people died but this is why there needs to be a law barring people from blocking roads and highways. Its very inconvenient.

With existing laws in place it is for certain illegal to do in the US. No new laws would be needed.

The law needs to be “If you block a major thoroughfare for the purposes of protesting then citizens who need to use said thoroughfare have the right to remove you by any means necessary up to and including death.”

Any politician that would introduce said legislation would get my vote.

Trujillo named after the Spanish counterpart
That's why I said different continent. Didn't know there was a Trujillo in Peru nor did it show when I searched.
What you think those trucks carry? Dolls? Books? No, it's food
People stopping the entry of food to a whole city is called a siege.
Retarded take based on speculation. Even in Peru a truck can hold and wait for a couple hours without spoiling food, there are others roads and there isn't a armed force holding you hostage. You can walk by them, call the police and so on. Are you really suggesting that a bunch of beaners sitting on a road is a siege ?

Many of the protests in Peru were caused by people who support Bolivian leftist government
Doesn't matter, my opinion is based solely on this event and these particular circunstances. What happens in Peru, Chile or any other place or location relevant to the discussion.

So the answer is to not actually go where the politicians are and protest there so your voice is heard,
The same south american politicians who sold the country to the highest bidder ? I'm sure they are looking toward to hear my voice. If there is any way these people revolt they can't, for absolute no reason block a road or cause any incovienience.
By your logic Tianamem square was a based response.

Another experiment for you, go out into he city you live and just start fucking with people
I might get my ass kicked but most white, rational people with a resemblance of a soul don't go around shooting people. It's nigger tier behavior.

How about an intubated baby with less than 10 minutes to live in an ambulance?

Mongoloid take. He repeatedly warned them to move and let him pass. The right to freely travel from point A to point B is one of the more fundamental human rights that exist. People thinking they can violate those rights and then hide behind "BUT IM JUST A PROTESTOR" is the same crap they tried when burning down stores and throwing rocks at people.

This is not even some new concept. Highwaymen have existed for centuries preying on innocent travelers. There is nothing noble about "give us what we want or you can't pass this road we've taken over". Humanity has been dealing with it for ages. The only new phenomenon is 21st century highwaymen and their simps such as yourself pretending to be surprised when they receive the same punishment their forebears 1000 years ago incurred.
Highwaymen were criminals because they were attempting robbery, not because they disrupt travel. You are genuinely stupid if you don't realize how giving people carte blanche to murder protesters could backfire, unless you have literally never took a stand for anything in your entire life

Every day I wake up there's another psy-op

Yeah, if they had protested a government building, they might have faced some push back from the state. Would have been risky. Protesters would have run the risk of getting hurt or incarcerated.

Instead of doing that, they blocked a major road, which surely caused millions in damages to business in the area and therefore the government. (Number I heard was 60M/day, but that's just hearsay)
The innocent civilians being negatively affected by their actions were acceptable collateral damage for the greater good, especially considering that inconveniencing motorists and the odd ambulance is a lot safer than actually confronting your corrupt government.

It's a soft target. It's the same reason mass shooters don't choose government buildings for their killing spree, but shopping malls and elementary schools.

He COULD be a deep state Chinese operative hell bent on making sure that the Globohomo(TM) runs smoothly, no matter how many bodies he has to stack up to ensure it...
or(hear me out), he's a boomer who ran out of fucks to give and simply did what we all wish we could. If everyone here did what we had to for the good of our country/mankind with so little regard for consequences, but maybe minded a bit more how to increase the bodycount from a petty 2-1 K/D ratio(I count him going to prison for what I assume will be most of the remaining years of his life as a "death"), the world would be a MUCH better place.

The idea behind a disruptive protest is to raise awareness through directly confronting civilians with the issue. Know what happens when you protest at a government building with only a small amount of people? Nothing. You get arrested, you get slammed by the media, you get made an example of, and no one wants to touch you for the rest of your life. Remember the Freedom Convoy? How are covid restriction protesters seen now?

Being an annoying prick to everyday people who just want to get to their cubicles and slave away to get their paycheck or get their entertainment on the only day of the week they have free is also a surefire way to make you hated by them, no matter how "justified" you think your cause is.
Case and point: #JustStopOil
The only awareness a disruptive protest like this on any sort of public road or property(Private Property too) that should be made is how many bullets can a human body take before bleeding out and how many bodies does it take to clear the human road block(hopefully all of them)

Remember the Freedom Convoy?
That's not a bad point, but not a good one either.
The truckers at the freedom convoy did go to Ottawa specifically, which is the capital city of Canada, to annoy the politicians who were stripping them of their rights. They were denying them the convenience of getting to ignore the truckers they were harming with their out-of-touch legislation, since those truckers are usually spread all around the country. They took the fight to their government with a very effective and peaceful protest.

The inconveniencing of the people around them, the collateral damage, was mainly the loud noises from the HOOOONKs, which could be a form of terrorism, albeit the lightest one I can think of right now and easily mitigated by using ear plugs. I don't remember any news about them blocking roads, either, especially not for ambulances and the like.

And don't get me wrong, the truckers and anyone associated with that protest DID get negatively affected by it. We all remember how authoritarian Canada got because of it, but that doesn't mean that the freedom convoy wasn't the right thing to do.

Sometimes when you want to affect change, it means eating shit. The life of a rebel, someone who challenges the system, is not for people who value comfort and security above all.
(Just look at Null; fucker had to move to Ukraine to keep Kiwifarms up, among many other setbacks, personal restrictions and receiving of negative attention.)
